Has anybody else seen or had this happen it just started about 10 mins ago now the first person that is listed is not even running emerald when i viewed there profile so it's not like emerald was talking to emerald.

even when reading my own profile it says it in main chat - [18:02] Emerald Viewer: Darius Seljan is looking into Darius Seljan's profile
Nothing new was enabled didn't log out and log back in have viewed profiles all day long and I have been using emerald for some time thru the different versions and this version for sometime

Start on post #4 here: I am aware of the extra addon that you can buy on Xstreet .. I do not have this the people profiles i'm looking at do not have this addon If you read my post the person that saw it first time is not even running emerald this is something that just has enabled it self with no add on's no changes being made one minute it's not saying it in main chat at all ( ie: all day and for months using emerald ) to now saying it every time a profile is read |

It's the person who is looking at profiles who needs to be running Emerald 950, it doesn't matter whose profile is being looked at.
What you probably have enabled is "show true online status in profiles", the viewer works that by sending chat on a known channel (it's derived from your UUID, that's how others can know where to listen) to the bridge attachment. Untick that feature when you are in crowds and the problem goes away. |

What matters is what Darius, the person who was apparently looking at profiles, was running. Darius does note Emerald 950, so anyone in chat range with one of those sniffing scripts would be able to make that script make the announcement.
That the chat is labeled "Emerald Viewer" is just a distraction, it only means that the prim with the sniffer script in it was named to that. |

Somebody within chat range has that product and has it set to say everything in open chat. The product can be set to talk only to the object owner or to also IM the person doing the profile looking or to say it all in open chat.
A friend bought one and we played around with it the other day to see what it does. If you do not want anyone else to be able to notice you looking at their profile: - Edit Preferences - Emerald tab - Misc tab - right side, uncheck "True online status in profiles" OR uncheck "Enable LSL-Client Bridge" Personally, I wouldn't give a crap who knew I was reading profiles - that is what the hell they are there for. . _____________________
