I just tried logging on with 1.20.17 and was told I couldn't, that there's a new required download?
No problem logging in a day or two with this viewer... is there something new today?

Well, 1.21.6 is the official release -- maybe they decided to enforce that so they don't get any more tickets on the 1.20.17 release.
ETA - I just logged in with the 1.20.17 version - plain old LL one and the Cool Viewer one. _____________________

I'm guessing some sort of major problem going on. I can still login with the 1.20.17 version -- however, I have not shut down my 1.21.6 login from early this morning and I have no clue if any cached stuff would affect that.

The automatic updater doesn't say what version it's downloading... I've never used it before but this time I clicked the bit to let it download the newest version.

I got in with 1.20.17 - I edited it and put --channel=myworld on the command line. That bypasses the version test.

Yep..........something not quite right somewhere. I have Standard viewer installed 1.21.6.99587 and I go to log in and it states that an update is required to continue. So you d/l the update and what do you get?..........1.21.6.99587. Same with the Release Candidate............Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

just add -channel "StupidLindens" (or anything you want in the quotes) to your properties line and that will get you around the problem
