i haven't asked these before, i alreayd know that.

1 - if i setup a streaming music place on the internet (where you just type in the web address, and it'll stream to you), can a Second Life radio, boombox, whatever, connect to it to play music? if so, is there a tutorial for this? i couldn't find one.

2 - every about 20 minutes or so, the game completely freezes for about a minute. i really mean full freeze, the mnouse won't respond, ctrl alt del won't work, it completely freezes. but when it isn't freezing, the game runs extremely well (minus the usual lag).
i have the latest drivers for my chipset. specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.0ghz each), 3GB Ram, Geforce 8800gt OC.

thanks :)

1) yes, but I don't know how. Torley might have a tutorial for it, or if Lias Leandros is around, she seems to know a lot about this kind of stuff. hang tight and you'll get an answer to this one, or at least directed to the right place for an answer.

2) Your system is more than sufficient to run SL. What version of the viewer are you using? I've had this lockup problem as well, but it's fairly rare for me, and it has never lasted a full minute. It goes 10-30 seconds for me. If you are using the release candidate, try going with the regular version and see if that makes a difference. Also, clear your cache and relog. I'm not sure if that has ever actually helped anyone, but it's the advice that is most often given. I guess a huge cache could create a bit of a logjam now and then, so give it a go and see if it works.

1 yes, however putting it into a radio or boombox depends on how the creator of the item set it up, so you would need to check with the creator, or read any notecards included.
To just simply put the stream to your land, all you do is open the land tools, and on the media tab fill in the stream info

2 happens to me too, not sure why, don't think it has anything to do with the PC, maybe (and this is a guess) it is writing to the cache or something (shrug)

2- i think it is a sim server issue, not your puter.

happens to me a lot at certain sims. mine can last a whole minute too. try hanging in a different sim and see if that changes your experience.

in the meantime, my best suggestion is accept it as part of the games glitches and to wait it out, and not start clicking buttons and trying to stop it.

Are you renting your house? Some landlords give you the option of controlling the music URL that streams to the parcel you are renting. If you are not sure whether you have this ability, check with the landlord.

1> Streaming media is handled by the parcel. So, if you own land, yes the audio stream for your parcel of land can be hosted by your own personal server. I've actually already done it with my own Shoutcast server running through a forwarded port on my router. Bandwidth becomes a problem fast though. (=_=)

If you're trying to stream music to something you're wearing on your avatar, I don't think that's possible. Some people try to get away with it by hooking a radio up to voice chat... At best, it's annoying and almost guaranteed to get you muted. (>_<;)

2> Freezeups happen to quite a few people, you're not alone. Are you running 1.19.0, 1.19.1, or 1.20.xx? I've been on the 1.20.xx RC viewer since it was RC4. Each following revision has improved a lot, but RC11 seems to have slowed down a bit for me and I'm starting to get freezeups again. (>_<;)

If you're interested, check out some alternative clients by Nicholaz or realXtend and see if they'll run freeze & crash free. (^_^)y

Depending on your rental, you may have to get the owner set it up for you or you may be able to do it yourself... and the "radio" dosnt actualy play the music, its just an interface that allows you to change stations (or streams) on the fly without having to edit your land.

On the freezing, try and get the latest Nvidia drivers, I had that problem too, installed the newest drivers and have not had it happen since.
