This is a Public Service Announcement.

The grid currently appears to be a bit borked again - asset server issues is my guess. Transactions are not going thru - getting the 'stale' message, clothes not rezzing, notecards/scripts/etc not opening.

Be warned - nothing on the Status page yet. Based upon the way this problem usually goes, loggin out will not help and it may take you a long time to get back in.

After about 15 minutes of trying to buy the same freebie over and over, the tran finally went thru -- maybe this time it is a short-lived problem.

Also happening with SLX. I got notification in my email that the transaction went through, but no item in my inventory yet...

We have reports of sporatic unavailablity of some services such as login, teleport, and rezzing objects. We are aware of the problem and are working to bring these services back online as quickly as possible."

Yep, when the world is borked it borks SLEX and OnRez for deliveries too.

OnRez used to close down during these times to protect people from losing money. Not sure if that is still the policy. It probably happens so much anymore they couldn't keep up if they did.

Over 62k on right now. I really do expect things to implode when they finally reach a concurrency of 65,536.

As for "working on it" what they seem to actually mean, judging by past experience, is "waiting for enough people to get disgusted and go away that the problem solves itself when concurrency drops."

That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry...

...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning.

/signed.

I wonder how many times it is just the logging out and inability to log back in during these times that drops the concurrency and lets the servers work right again.

Probably far more often than they or us want to admit.

Finally, apparently resolved at 3:15, though they will continue to monitor it.

No it's not true - the bot herders tell us it isn't ... so there. They must be right, right? They know everything don't they? ;)

Plague rat?
06-22-2008 15:43
When I logged on I kept getting a message: "Unable to create object that caused problems on this region."

It continued even after I teleported to a new region.

Anyone else, or am I just an electronic plague rat?

9:30 p.m. SLT - Not able to login. Tried multiple possible sims, so I could see if it was a single location's issues. No go. Just the little "login failed" notice. Nothing on gridstatus.

Only because after 15 minutes of them spewing out one of my kitchen sink, I managed to block it off with the right sized prim :)
I got "$0L" all over the room.........................
