I was in my appartment having a chat with a new friend and 2 cages were set up around us........I got us both out but now the cages are still there and not permissable to return......
any suggestions

Sounds like a rental apartment?
Check the 'autoreturn' setting in About Land, under Objects I think it is. If it's set to '5' then non-group items will go away in 5 minutes, 30 = 30 min &c. A setting of 'zero' means that autoreturn is off. Other than that - contact your landlord, or, if they are physical objects you *may* be able to shove them out somehow.
