Or is anyone else annoyed by thread titles that have vague names?

No, it's not just you. It is those who are not yet wise in the ways of forum-fu. They have yet to realize that the more explicit and to the point your title is, the more intelligent replies you will get. /bows and retreats

Darn it Arch, I was trying to get that resolved in a friendly manner! However, I do completely agree. To all forum users starting new threads: Give your thread a title that tells people what it is about. It helps people find threads that interest them, and here in Resident Answers, questions they might be able to answer. Examples of good thread titles: - My hair is attached to my bottom - Vehicle explodes when crossing sim borders - Can't stop dancing Examples of not so good thread titles: - OMG what is going on? - Anyone else? - Help!

Forgot to mention another important reason for giving your threads meaningful titles: searching the forums! In the advanced search form, the searcher can limit the search to just titles (which includes both thread titles and individual post titles). Limiting a search in this way increases the percentage of relevant results (so you don't have to wade through pages of garbage), but it can leave out relevant threads if they weren't titled properly.

Now THIS has potential to be a really fun game.
Good thread titles: - Footwear rectosis made me popular, moreso from the front. - How many Goreans does it take to ...
Not so good thread titles: - You suck. - WAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

Since we're doing this... When the thread title is vague, I hover my mouse over the thread and it shows the first sentence or two. It's super useful, so long as the first sentences don't consist of apologies for asking

From: VooDoo Bamboo Is it just me... OR WHO THE HELL CARES! Its a damn mouse click to see it and then to go back again. Here I'd say it's probably not a big deal but I've been in much busier forums where it would make a huge difference. Based on that experience I admit it pisses me off too. I skip them about half the time if there is no real subject there. This one got lucky.

Not another "I've got my head stuck in the cupboard" thread.
