Oh help with flying controls

Hi,

Suddenly my flying controls aren't working -- they are checked off but not shown..so, if I want to fly, I have limited use (can't go straight up)..I have to use my keyboard controls only...

Any advice?

Marrant, click 'View' at the top of the screen, and then click 'Movement Controls'. If I have understood you correctly, that should fix your problem.

Sorry, no no no no no (though thank you for trying) ..The Movement Control is marked... and I can't unmark it and remark it again. It doesn't show the flying controls.

I have used them before, they just suddenly disappeared. Even though they are clicked or x'd or whatever you call it, they don't show and I can't move around using them because they are not there!

Of course, at the moment I'm told due to problems SL doesn't understand and despite having done everything they could do, I can't sign on, so flying at the moment is moot.

Yes, the forum is slow, but I sooooo wish somebody would direct me to a place where I could perhaps get my flying controls (Movement Controls) fixed so I could fly again...I have flown before but suddenly a day or two ago, they stopped working. I don't know how to fix them, if there is someplace under Clients? or something where I could work with them. I've logged off, defragged, shut down, etc. but still, no flying. Can you picture SL without the ability to fly? It isn't pretty.

Sorry Marrant, but I really don't understand what you mean by the movement controls being marked/unmarked. Can you explain concisely and methodically (with the aid of screen shots if that helps) what the problem is and then someone may be able to help you. As it stands, I really can't understand what it is that you are having problems with.

Sheesh... and here I have been flying using only PgUp, PgDwn and arrow keys...

Are you sure they are not sitting at the edge of your screen, or perhaps behind something like the minimap?

I've always found the keyboard much easier!

I'm really stretching here, but maybe it will help......

I'm wondering if your "movement controls" got moved off of the edge of the screen, the way HUD controls sometimes do?

To fix HUD's that accidently got moved off screen, you attach another HUD or small prim to the cental HUD attachment point and do this:

''Editing a HUD location:
Hold down alt and and "zoom out" by moving the mouse backwards.
then you can move the hud that was off screen into the visible area.

This is a really stupid question, well really 2 questions:

Are you in a "no fly" sim? Check the top of the screen; is there a red circle with a white down arrow in it? That means you can't fly in that sim.

Are you over 300 meters? If you are, and aren't wearing a flight assister, the most you'll be able to do is sort of jump up and down if you're lucky. Try falling to the ground and then flying on the ground.
