Just curious if it's possible to reduce the size of the loading screen....You know that really
long black bar we watch till...region handshake is complete...connecting to region...downloading clothing..Have I just been here so long and gotten used to the size of it or did it get bigger? Anyway, is there a way to make it smaller or drop it to the bottom of the screen somehow?

If this has been covered before I do apologize ahead of time to those that have to read this again.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forums. :)

I've certainly never seen this question before, but I rather doubt it would be easy to shrink that progress bar, except by changing the viewer source. Of course, it is open source, so it wouldn't be impossible by any means.

The only place within the viewer that I can almost imagine this being adjustable would be the Debug Settings from the Advanced menu, but this doesn't ring a bell as one of the settings that's exposed there.

might be modifiable via the xml ui files... not sure as I haven't looked, but many of those have parameters for ui elements, though you might have to use the xui advanced/debug features to access it.

it is modifiable via the UI XML files.
what i would rather do, is eliminate the black screen while teleporting.
i have seen teleporting without the black screen, its pretty interesting to see what happens during a successful teleport and a failed teleport.
also, logging in without seeing the progress bar and the last snapshot, thats pretty interesting what goes on as well.

First of all thanks to Qie Niangao for the welcome :-)

Ok back to business.....Ok so come to find out I am not qualified to work for Microsoft or even sweep the floors at ITT, but eh, I try lol....anyway...thanks for the help on the XUI and where you said to look to get rid of the logging in screen bar....was able to atleast find the name "/ProgressView" only problem is ummm well I still have no clue how to understand this stuff. Is there a book for XUI idots preferably in yellow ( since it stands out more ) :P or can you contact me ingame to walk me through it or just post it here ?
I noticed there are no negative values on the floater for what you want to adjust...So to me the higher the number goes the bigger it gets or am I wrong and also, am I not typing in the full name?

I do apologize for taking so long to get back...motherboard took a header :(

Thanks again Elite :-)

I had wondered about this too. What's the point of having a snapshot to look at while you log in if you can't see it?

i've seen that as well. even better is having camera restraint off, being focused on something in the sim, then teleporting to another sim leaving your camera view behind. the first time i spent a few minutes wondering why i "hadn't teleported" but everything in the sim was derezzing.
