stopped receiving IMs as emails for no good reason!

I haven't changed any settings or anything but suddenly the last 2 days i've not received any of my in-world IM's as emails (and there definitely HAVE been lots of IMs).

I reentered my email address here on the SL website (in contact info) and had the box checked to receive IM's as emails - but still no joy.

The email address works and is receiving other emails.

Any idea what might be going on? Any fix or suggestions?

Thanks

Have you checked your preferences to make sure that didn't somehow get unchecked? It's on the Communications tab.

I've noticed the same over the last couple of days. My option is turned on. I still get group notices though.

Out of curiosity, what email provider do you use? Gmail here.

This happened to me a week or so ago and I tracked the problem down to broken forwarding on my email address.

Basically I had been receiving my offline IMs at email address B for so long that I'd forgotten that what was really happening was that SL was sending them to email address A and email address A was set up to forward to email address B.

So when I stopped getting my offline IMs at email address B as I usually do, I checked email address B and it was working fine, and so I assumed there was something wrong with SL. Eventually, though, I realized that the offline IMs were coming in just fine - they were just going to email address A as they were supposed to, and the forwarding (for irrelevant reasons) on that address had broken.

checked - in preferences it's checked

not forwarding - should just come direct into my email (ISP email - not Gmail)

Hm, maybe you've done this already, but you didn't say you did so - did you check your spamtrap? It's possible that your ISP has changed the way it's filtering messages.

Definitely check your spam filters, and go to the spam mailbox, I'd be willing to bet you'll find all your IM's in spam.

No - nothing in Spam - not using Gmail
And my ISP doesn't do any filtering.

I also have noticed this.

I do use GMail, but I pre-filter my IM-to-Email messages, and sort them based on the contents. Nothing has changed on my end in the last few days, but the emails do seem to have stopped abruptly (even though every time I log in, I have plenty of offlines).

(strangely, it seems that my "IM-to-Email" setting got turned off... which I am certain I didn't initiate).

Are you receiving other e-mails besides SL IMs? Have you checked your spam folder?

I have a gmail account set up just for SL and I forward the messages from it to my regular non-gmail account which I access using a client on my PC. I noticed this same thing happen a while ago, no SL emails. Turned out the gmail account got disabled for some reason.

This has happened to me and my partner twice over the past month, it became unchecked in my preferences. I think it was after updating to the new release candidate.
