I don't crash, but I do seem to move around much better with the main client rather than the RC.

I've crashed several times there. With either client.

{EDIT} Though in all fairness, I don't think I crash any more often there than anywere else! {/EDIT}

I crashed once, but it was because the sim was crashed.

I crashed once, but it was my first run of RC11... It's been stable ever since. (^_^)

I did find a ghosted Linden avatar a couple days ago and IMed him to *poof* it... It *poof*ed, he responded, I got a bear. (^_^)y

I went to a live music show at the mainstage, saw Jax Streeter and Azraihl (sp?) Hax. Great musicians all... and crashed at least 3 times. Bit hard to dance like that.

Not crashing yet, but having just *incredible* texture lag. Honestly, any busy sim that has sculpties in it is just asking for trouble, and there are sims here where everywhere you look is yet another sculptmap that won't load any time before heat-death of the universe. They even used some sculpty pathways--what *were* they thinking??

And while I'm bitching about builds... wtf is it with all the ultra-intense Glow? Are there some viewers that render glow but at some subdued level, such that these textures are still visible as textures instead of great masses of brilliant ectoplasm? (I know: while rezzing it's worse, but so many things even after rezzing are still just blindingly "glow-y".)

Crash, schmash. The lag was so ridiculous as to force me to leave after visiting only a few sims. I really wanted to impress non-SLer friends at work with the creative potential that's here, but the lag is a show stopper. I would have to spend most of my time begging forgiveness as to why my AV keeps rubber-banding and sinking, why my chat even lags and why the prims take forever to rez. And these were on sims with no other AVs. Eesh.

It's too, too bad. There is some amazing stuff in there.

Uberglow is the builder's bling. I have seen it used very tastefully for lights and neon signs *points at Mari's toy store in Bay City* and I have seen it abused beyond belief. It's still in its "cool new shiny thing" stage. (=_=)y

I was there last night, and even with the sim relatively empty of people, the lag was terrible, it took forever to rez stuff, and I crashed periodically. I was getting that weird crash where all of a sudden you are twirling in circles and you have to relog. It's a bit nauseating to watch, especially with a large monitor.

Prior to last night, my crashes were not bad at all. Every once in a while things came apart and i had to relog, but for the most part, everything was very stable.

THankoo, Immy. :-)

An ya. It's like light and flexi around the third birthday (I abused these then!) or scultpy last year (There was one RFL sim that was so heavy with sculpt dat I could not walk into view of it without crashing!). People will eventually realize dat less is more with it, jes in time for the Next Big Ting.

There is an exhibit at SLB5 (sorry, don't remember where or by whom) that does a very good job of demonstrating the use of full bright, shiny, shadows, sculpties and many other features to make a high quality build. They have set up two similar builds. One shows a nice build by most standards. The second shows how that build can be enhanced with many of the features available to turn it into a high quality build. You can click on objects and get a message describing what was done to enhance the build.

If anyone remembers where/what it is, I'd sure like to visit that.

More people can attend a performance, some in each sim.

No Crashing Here

I have visited many of the SL5B sites three times over several days, plus the Kids area. I have not crashed once and the lag has been minimal. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for the textures to rez in.

I use the Nicholaz BE-w viewer with the pre-RC clients.
