I build recreations of real world places in SL, and I was wondering if there is a system planned that would allow anyone (with a SL viewer) to use a guest avatar to visit my recreations without the need for them to set up an account? I thought perhaps that these temporary avatars could be restricted to my own land or simulator region to prevent them from interfering with the rest of the grid?

As far as I know, they have to endure the gauntlet of Orientation Island like the rest of us. You could create alts and give out your password, but that would be against the TOS.

No on the guest avatars, but there might be a semi-solution. Make a video of walking through your build. Like a virtual guided tour. You could explain things along the way and you can post yoru video anywhere on the web. Not only would it be a great way to get your place seen by those outside (and inside) SL, but you might just bring a few new fresh accounts into SL ^.^ I'm guessing that many do the videos (though I have no clue how). The one I am familiar with is Torley Linden. He's always doing short videos to show how to do things in SL (Tips of the Week on the blog). E-mail him and ask for help if you need it. I'm sure he'd be delighted to help in such a thing (provided he has the time. Lot on his plate at LL). ~Jessy
