Terrain Textures

Hi all,
I'm new in second life and have been living in the knowledge base it seems. The issue I have is, I want to put terrain textures on some property I bought. We have 2 adjoining parcels and have grouped them together. Everything I find talks about estate or other large chunks of land but there is no indication that a texture can be placed on small lots. The property is on the mainland.

Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dick

The reason you can't find anything is because we cannot change the terrain textures on mainland. Only private estate owners can do that. Can you imagine what the mainland would be like if we *could* change the terrain textures.

Hi Dick, that's only an option for private estate sim owners unfortunately. You can get some sort of sculpted ground cover I believe, but obviously that uses up some of your prim count.

Try searching on Xstreet for that kind of product. Alternatively, you can rez large flat blocks of prims as a base for your build, and texure them however you wish. The only problem there being that this will look a bit...well, flat!

Also, it is impossible to change terrain textures in a per-parcel basis. Private Island terrain textures can only be changed sim-wide, and are based on elevation bands and some rough marker point settings at each corner of the sim. So even on a non-Mainland sim, the sim owner couldn't apply a different texture to your parcel than what your neighbor has.

Only Sim owners can change Terrain Textures and not Mainland owners. I offer ground covers for sale as a Prim and if you want to apply it to your own made Prims thats no problem, just extract the texture from its content folder.

I offer numerous Ground covers at my Outdoor Landscape store. My store is in mainland and I have used my Grass Textures on the ground for anyone to see. Only 1 purchase necessary per Ground cover and it has copy perms so that you can use it as many times as you require.
