Hi,
i've got couple of problems with land deeding. Because i don't have time to take care of island so i've made decission to findout somebody who will do this for me. I've made a group and special role for this purpose. The director of the island should be able to delete other avatars objects, add/delete avatars from acces/ban list, eject people from land, etc, but i don't want to give him rights like modifying scripts, deleting, modyfing objects, sell land, etc. From what i've find out on this forum, land must be deeded to group without that role settings doesn't work. So i deeded the land to group and than it starts. Around 300 objects were returned to my inventory before i've stopped it. I've find out that it happens because of autoreturn settings and objects owned by land owner not group. Another problem is this "Second Life: Your 8 objects have been returned to your inventory lost and found folder by you near parcel 'Conference Plateau' at Makapiti 136, 220 because the parcel is full". I don't get it, island is splitted in to the several parcels, one parcel exceeds object parcel limit but it wasn't problem till i've tried deed the land to the group. How is connected object parcel limit with land deeding? And the last problem, i can't deed all objects to the group because there are objects that pay money to avatars and doing so will malfunction them but if i don't do that i can't use auto-return settings. I would be glad for any advice.

Actually, the land need only be set to the group, if the group gives those Abilities to the Role that the "director" is in.

The error message is a bit misleading - there isn't really any "parcel limit" on objects, but a global "region limit" on how many primitives you can have in a region. All of the parcels you own in a region add their prim counts together to give the total number of prims you can use in the region. When the land was owned by you, it was over the limit, but you weren't over your region limit given the other parcels you owned in the region - but the moment you deeded it to the group, it wasn't benefiting from the other parcels you own in the region any more, and the limit applied.

Set the land to the group, rather than deeding it; or use no-build and no-entry rather than auto-return.

There are some group roles that only work if the land is DEEDED to the group. Anything that is normally a right reserved only for the owner of a parcel wll fall in this category, such as the ability to set the music stream URL for the parcel.

For autoreturn, objects on the land only need to be SET to group, and not Deeded. Only the land itself is necessary to be deeded for the group roles to work.

If you have several parcels on a property, and they initially all belonged to you personally, it didn't matter how you had the prims dustributed. You could have 300 prims stacked on one 16M2 parcel, because you owned other parcels in the sim that covered the extra prims on that one. But if you deeded that same 16 M2 oparcel to the group, now IT is owned by the group, and since the group does not yet own enough parcels in the sim to cover 300 prims, the excess in that small parcel get returned. To prevent this sort of problm, deed the largest parcels first, and any that may be over their parcel prim limits should be done last. (Of course, it is best to simply be sure in the first place that the parcel is large enough to support all that prims that it contains, but this isn't always possible.)

To use autoreturn, the prims on each parcel need to be SET to the group that owns the parcel, or owned by the individual who owns the parcel. So set Autoreturn to zero, which turns it off for that parcel. Deed the parcel. Now make sure all the prims on that parcel are set to the same group as the one that owns the parcel. You can use the objects tab in about land to make sure of that, as it will tell you how many prims are on the parcel, and how many are set to the same group as the parcel. When all prims are set tp the parcel's group, it's safe to turn on Autoreturn for that parcel. If new prims aer added after autoreturn is activated, the person placing the prims should be wearing the group tag that matches the parcel owneing group, before they set out the new prims. this ensures the new prims are set to the land group.

But if i create group for example "Island Governors" in that group I create role governor that is able to add/remove avatars from land add/pass list and set the land to the group, avatar with this role set wouldn't be able to add/remove avatars from land add/pass list. I have to deed the land to group to make it work. Am I wrong?

You are correct, see Ceera's post above.
