Thats an interesting question,

Can animations even move the avatars hands?

I do know a good place to look for all kinds of gestures is Mr. Ps

When you upload an animation, you can select from a dozen or so hand poses. Like fist, relaxed, pointing... I don't remember if there's a thumbs-up option. If there is, then it would be easy to make a thumbs-up gesture. If not, it might not be possible. You can't animate the fingers and thumbs, you can only use the collection of presets they have available, as far as I know.

When I get home from work I'll have a look and see what can be done. It'd be need to have a thumbs-up or two-thumbs-up gesture.

I have one from the movie Animal House. It does not move your thumb, though. It's on slexchange and at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Atlantic%20City%20Island/64/91/22

*sprays water all over my monitor*

OK, so while the OP walked into that one, we all knew what was meant. ha ha ha

And no, I don't know. Just had to chime in and chastise Raymond for getting my monitor wet.

Ahhh ! Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have skimmed through the hand poses, there's stuff like Rock, Paper, Scissors or the Victory sign but sadly, no Thumbs Up.
