![]() Inner Chlld Camp, expanded from last year and heavily influenced by KidsVille at the RL Burning Man festival (they even gave us permission to use their logo with our camp!), is my entry. Built primarily by me, with assistance by Pygar Bu, Valla Griffin, Robin Howe. an Johnathon Spad. Features "The Inner Child [r]Evolution" entranceway, the wedge slide, a mini thunderdome, its own small stage and other goodies. Find it at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burning%20Life-Granite/28/220/2 _____________________

As mentioned in the undying thread, I have a small-ish guide to some of the stuff I like at Burning Life. Find it in my blog at http://marianne.secondlifekid.com/2009/10/19/its-burny-life-time-again/
Easier to put it there than here cuz the blogs don't like that many URLs in a post. ![]() _____________________

I visited a couple of BL regions last night and was rather unimpressed with what I saw. It all seemed an arbitrary hodge podge of second rate builds lacking a concept.
Am I just expecting too much from BL? |

I've seen many of these art plots and they are well worth visiting. Here's a notecard I received with slurls:
12 Big Art Plots Burning Life - 09 Every year Burning Life Art Department picks 12 art projects out of many wonderful applications for featured presentation - the so-called 12 Big Art plots. They are not exactly "big", only 40 by 40 meters - smaller than most regular camps, but the artists get to use 2000 prims. And they sure know how to use those! Please open the attached notecard to view the short descriptions and locations of our special camps. Bryn Oh - Vessel's Dream A new cam build based off of her poem Lilac. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burning%20Life-Bordello/22/150/24 Ub Yifu - Gulliver's travel Gulliver's travel scene from Ub Yifu and Copan Falta Audio; streaming by Reverend Upshaw http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burning%20Life-3%20Mile/216/140/25 Solkide Auer - Shellina Winkler - Towards the future TOWARDS THE FUTURE is a fully immersive installation created at Burning Life. Am I just expecting too much from BL? I don't know. I liked it. It's supposed to be something like the RL Burning Man. Admittedly, I've never been there, but I expect it to be an anarchic hodge podge spread over a desert. |

It's scary to think that we all evolved from the primordial noob. You mean, we are all distant cousins, Argent? ![]() _____________________

As mentioned in Joshooah's post above I together with my partner Penumbra Carter have our first ever Burning Life build, although I did do a porta potty last year. Alpha Auer was kind enough to blog about our build on NPIRL.
http://npirl.blogspot.com/2009/10/144dimensional-drift-machine-dekka.html we are at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burning%20Life-Steamboat/144/205/25 I have been impressed with some of the work at Burning Life this year and it seems less laggy than other years. However our plot is near the Tokyo Stage and with some of the more popular acts there that can fill the sim often. |

Chickens, eggs, evolution, de-evolution, and of course fire. These all figure into my campsite. The Eggphitheatre is comprised of 124 panels of alternating original, hand-drawn art. Every night at 6pm SLT I host a warped form of Madlibs in the Eggiphitheatre. It's roosting in the round seating for this event, which usually takes about a half hour. The stories produced are added to the campsite and they're all available to read. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Burning%20Life-Quinn/214/21/24 ** NOTE ** Wednesday is DOITY BOID night. We'll be going up to a special henhouse and there will be no holds barred on the language. This was by request since today is Hump Day. ![]() _____________________

Am I just expecting too much from BL? Citizen, BL is vast and you find all sorts of stuff. And that's part of the point! There are some truly awesome builds there. But it's not all about the building skill; the creativity takes precedence in my book. Check out some of the artist's builds in Jungo. Awesome. |

I enjoyed your build btw Dekka!
One thing to keep in mind is they are supposedly restarting all the BL sims around 6am SLT daily to help with lag so checking things out after this time if you are able might be helpful for some. For those that don't like crowds, you can check out pics in the BL Flickr group pool: http://www.flickr.com/groups/burninglife/pool/ _____________________

I had an awesome time there the other night! Kudos to you Holocluck. Thanks Marin! Always nice to meet more residents. Don't be a stranger and come back. There are 7 more stories to unleash to an unsuspecting world. Feh on the 12 plots. Preferential treatment abounds. _____________________

I just received this notecard for the times when they will burn "The Man". I saw a preview of this during a sim stress test prior to the opening of Burning Life to the public and it's worth watching:
