Clear cache a few times. If that doesn't work, try deleting the SL Application Data folder. It's C:\Documents and Settings\'User name'\Application Data\SecondLife on XP. You'll get annoying popups for a while, but it'll also force the client to rebuild your inventory.
You can't hurt anything since all of the original information lives on the SL server, not client side.

First off, yes, clear your cache. It won't affect what's in your Inventory. Your Inventory is NOT stored on your home computer; therefore a computer restore won't do anything. The cache is basically a folder with all the textures your computer has downloaded (NOT uploaded) in order to draw SL for you. It's perfectly fine to delete the entire folder, which is probably a good idea at this point.

It might be OK tomorrow - don't give up hope. Just a thought....... The missing items haven't accidentally been moved to a different folder, have they? I've done that before and didn't realise what had happened at first.

It's also possible to drag items like scripts/notecards/pictures/etc onto the ground and have them lodge inside the prim that's there. Might try checking your surroundings.

Yay! It might pull faster if you find a quiet sim to loiter in...an empty water region, perhaps.

It does store asset data in the cache folder too. there is a program on slx that alows you to back it up. dosnt allow to restore though so no idea if you want that or not. ^ objects and textures too. just cant change anything or do anything funky. Program dosnt have the options
