I had this problem several months back and now it's happening again. Whenever I TP, when I reach my destination I am not on the ground but am always in the air. Usually I am several meters up and fall to the ground. Sometimes I wind up hundreds of meters in the air. Just a few minutes ago I wound up 2000 meters in the air.

When I am flying I can't hover, I keeping going up and sometimes I can't fly down at all unless I hit the home key.

I've taken off my ao, and my mystitool and have nothing else on that could affect this at all. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomena?

I'm assuming the TP coordinates are not set to underground or several-2000 meters in the air?

Does this happen on every TP, intermittantly, in cycles? Any particular day or time?

Yesterday it started and throughout last night. Literally, no exaggeration, every other TP would result in a crash. When I would log back in and then TP, the into the air problem would always occur.

Today I am not having the crashing, but I am having the TP into the air problem every single time that I TP. I'm also having the floating away problem every time that I am in the air.

Of course, now that I've posted this, the past several TP's have worked just fine. :p

I find that happens when I was already flying and didn't realize or think of that, then I tp and end up in the air.

here's a consideration...

Are you TPing between havok1 and havok4 sims?

I've noticed a pronounced upward drift in my physical vehicles and my Mysti flight assist in a havok4 environment.

Detach all if you haven't done that already.

What are you smoking?

Can I have some??

If I am in my skybox at a high elevation, and I map a location to TP to, I sometimes end up there at the same high elevation I was at when I teleproted.

I took off all my attachments.

I'm looking at land so in all these situations they were ground to ground teleports. I have this problem whenever I TP to my skybox. I always end up several meters up and fall down to it. I've just gotten use to it and yes, the coordinates are correct.

As I said, this happened once before and lasted several days then went away. It's gone again, hopefully for awhile.

I don't know about the havok1 and havok4 sims. Good question. How would I know?

You should get a popup about "different simulator version"

That's right I've had that before, but no, not today.

Help About Second Life should tell you, I think.

There's a list of sims that are or were in a Havoc 4 test , where I don't know.

The sim Strathnaver is a Havoc 4 test sim , if you want to see if that makes a difference.

You may already know this, but quite often, after pressing the "Release" button, an instance of MystiTool will persist.

Sometimes you have to go into your inventory and turn it off there.

I can' think of anything else....

As far as I know, right click av, Take Off, Detach All works pretty reliably.

If one thinks they have detached things because they detached the things they could see or remember - Detach All would be a better way to go about it. Objects you forgot can be in your body, transparent, or as offscreen HUDs.

Anybody know where the list of main grid (non beta) Havoc 4 sims are?

In http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/02/07/435-havok4-early-adopter-regions-updated-with-16-fixes-2008-02-07/#comment-584296, Kelly Linden says it's not a good idea to post such a list. (Doesn't mean the list isn't posted somewhere, of course.)

But a huge thanks, Suzeanne, for the main grid Havoc 4 sim. Before, I'd tested an hypothesis about http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-1299 on two Caledon sims that I'd erroneously thought were running Havoc 4 at the time, and came to a very incorrect conclusion. Knowing one Havoc 4 sim was just enough to get me to test again and correct the error--I'd have never bothered to get into the Beta Grid just for that.

Also perhaps of passing interest, from other Linden comments in the above-cited blog post, apparently the ceiling will lift from 768 to 4096 in Havoc 4, instead of the 1024 that we'd heard before, although at least initially all but a beta viewer will remain capped at a lower level.

This happens to me too sometimes, when I TP home.

Hanging a few feet in the air, flailing about, is a symptom of some kind of failure in Second Life. This has been happening for years. Yes, the other people see you floundering in the air when it happens - it not a Viewer artifact.

I think it happens when there is some kind of flakey communication somewhere (like many bugs).
