Hello I tried to search and did not see anything like this so I will ask here.
I have a group for a land I once had. All my renters are members of it and some of their friends who help with the builder as well as shop owners around my sim. Since I have a lot of things group owned, and since the group is about 150 people, is there a way to just transfer the ownership to the person who is buying my business then leave the group?

Yes - just assign the owner role to anyone you wish and then you can leave the group.

Actually I found it wasn't quite so straightforward when I transferred a group ownership to one of my alts. For some reason it kept failing whenever I transferred the group ownership role to my alt. Eventually I had to make my alt leave the group and then issue it an fresh invite as a group owner. Then it worked. Maybe I was doing something wrong.

Sorry all...thanks for the replies if nothing else I will do that. I meant to say FOUNDER though not owner. Is there a way we can say who the group was founded by? And what will happen if the founder is no longer in the group?

Thanks again! By definition, the Founder is the person that started the group. There's no way to change this other than going back in time.

I founded my land group and have also assigned 3 of my alts as 'owner'. I then took the owner role away from myself and removed myself from the group. It does still show me as the Founder, but the only way I can now get back in the group is via an invite and even after being invited back in, I was not automatically dropped back into the Owner role.
ETA - you *might* be able to get LL to change the Founder for you.
