Age verification doesn't work. Help!

Hello!
I noticed a few days ago that I need to verify my age to go to adult locations. I have tried via passport number and changing the payment agreement as stated in the guidelines, but I'm still not able to change my settings to adult. Has anyone experienced the same? Any help?

first question, you are using the latest SL viewer right?

Did you go through the age verificaton on the web-site and are you sure you are verified? You will be told that you already are verified when trying a second time.

If so, did you change your settings at the general tab to show/goto PG, Mature and Adult places? - the default is PG and Mature only, so even if verified you cannot enter adult places without changing the settings.

You don't need age verification to go on the adult continents.
You need one of the following:

> Payment info on file
> Paypal account added to xStreetSL
> Age Verification

I had a simular problem when i tried verifying.

I must have entered in my details numerous times because each time i clicked to check if it had worked it brought up the origanal page, nothing telling me i was verified. In the end i sent Linden Labs a message and they told me that i had i just needed to change my settings inworld, so i went inworld and preferences, general and change the rating *blushes* did you check to do that?

A lot of people are propagating the misinformation that one MUST be age verified to enter adult parcels. It is NOT so.

The only exception is if the land owner has purposely set the land to only allow age verified avatars. IF they properly set the land to adult and that was all they did - then anyone who is also ACCOUNT verified can go in.

Account verified consists of having payment information on file with Linden Labs, either at the website here, or in XStreet.

OK something that i didnt realise when I couldnt tick the "adult" box was..

You acutally need to enable the ability to enable the adult box(stupid I know)

go to "edit" and "preferences" and in the "general" tab you will see one saying "I want to access content rated:", there is a pull down menu after this where you can select "PG", "PG and mature" and "PG,Mature and adult".

After you select the third one and press apply you can tick the adult box in search.

Yes I did, but nothing happens when I click the button. I did so several times, even from different computers. Very strange...



Yes, I know. It's not possible to choose PG, Mature and Adult. Only the other two options.

By the way, I do have a paypal account connected to XstreetSL. Apparently, that didn't help much either.

If anyone still has an idea, I'm open for suggestions. However, thanks so far for all the kind answers...

XStreet payment info does not reflect in SL, until you install 1.23 viewer.

At least, this is what a Linden said directly. I haven't tested it.

PS, PLEASE pass the word, in world, about Account Verify also being a legitimate way to access adult land. I haaaate wrong information being smugly passed around, as seems to be the case in SL subcultures, with this issue.

I do have the 1.23 viewer. This is really frustrating...

Look at your profile in world. If it says "No Payment info on file" in the Account box, and you have payment information on file on the web site or with XStreet, then you'll need to file a support ticket to have it reflected in-world.

Buying L$ through the viewer should also switch you to "Payment info used" which will let you activate Adult content through preferences.

The only way to know if Age Verification was successful is to go to a parcel in SL with age verification turned on. If you can't even activate adult content in preferences, it's a good bet your verification was not successful.

Does paypal count for this, or only credit card?

How long ago did you register with payment info at XStreet? It can take a while for it to go through.

I reset my paypal connection for about the fourth time now, and this time the age verification actually worked!

Please, spread the word that people do NOT have to register through Aristotle. Only if the land is specifically set to require AGE verify instead of account verified.
