Hello all,
I really have a problem to log into
Second Life with the normal Viewer.

I GET THIS MESSAGE:
Unable to conect to Second Life
DNS could not resolve the Host Name

I always play in the Candidate Viewer,
but would like to get the problem solved.

CAN someone please help me....

Thanks Randolf

I have the feeling that in two hours we will be told on the status site that we are experiencing network or other trouble. Parts of the website already are not loading, in world everything goes crazy, too.

That's usually an indication that you're having problems with your internet connection.

If you have been having DNS problems for a while, the first thing to do is probably to go to the website of your ISP, see which addresses they say you should be using and make sure that those match what you're using...

Your ISP is the company you pay to have access to the internet "internet service provider", like Comcast, Verizon, Quest, or a local provider, etc.
Whose on your bill, call them for service or to ask questions too, they can test your line and tell you maybe some helpful things.

Well thanks for all support,

but the funny thing is,
that i can log in on the older viewers
like 19.1

Only the 20.15 is making this problems...,
and I have no Idea why, so it cannot really
be my Internet connection, it must be a problem
with the viewer.

Or can it be a problem with the firewall???

Really lost....

Hmm.. Me too. :)

You can still log in with the older viewers, even now?

Do you have ZoneAlarm or some other software firewall?

I have had this problem all day today, using 1.20 whatever we're at now. Normally everything is fine, and I can connect to the internet, no problem.

It is now taking me almost 15 minutes to log in. The blue progress bar moves further up with each try, and finally I'm in - extremely irritating!

If anyone finds a fix, I would be delighted.

Reboot your router, see if that helps.

control-shift-G will bring up the grid selector widget next to the Quit button. Make sure it says "Agni".

I've rebooted router, pc, etc, cleared cache, and done the ipconfig/flushdns thing. Still the same. Will try the Ctrl/Alt/G though, thanks for that.

Only the 20.15 is making this problems...,

If you are using 1.20.15.93532, then that is a bad viewer and has known connection problems. There is a newer version to update to.

I'm on 1.20.15 (92456). Is there a newer one than this??

Blue line is 1 cm from the end after 8 tries at logging in - won't be long now - woot!
