Hi, I have a simple question. I know what PDT, Mountain time & Eastern is, but what is SLtime? I keep hearing people refer to SLTime & I don't know what that is. Please help.
Thanks Silena

Hi Silena,

SLT is Second Life time. It's Pacific Standard time actually since Linden Lab is located near San Francisco California. It used to be all time was displayed as SLT. It was only recently that they changed the time on the viewer to PDT/PST, that's why you still hear many of us refer to it out of habit.

And GMT is SLT + 8 hours, while Central European Time is SLT + 9 hours.

Just to reiterate (and hopefully clear up any confusion).. there's a little green clock at the top of the SL client on the top right corner.

Sometines that says "PST" and sometimes it will say "PDT"

"SLT or "SL Time" refers to that clock.. (regardless of whether it says PST or ODT)

So if your friend says "meet me at the club at 10pm SLT" just look at that clock, and work out how long it is going to be.

If you have a lot of issues like this, with friends in several time zones... I made a little utility that might help
