I manage an island. I have just started a daily check of traffic counts for each parcel, I just want to know if numbers stay constant or vary wildly. Most numbers seem to be consistent.

However today a parcel that usually has a traffic count between 20 and 100 shot up to 1245, this surprised me so I checked to see what was new.

There is a new vendor for something called: Thoy's bot Window v0.537 [AB Althouse] with floating text saying it pays L$ 2000 for every Avatar registration, with a footnote, "make sure this is your alt account and not your main".

Something doesn't seem right, if that high count is people claiming 2k for alts, well lets say just 1k of that traffic have registered, that's L$ 2,000,000 paid out in one day!

What is this and if my assumption is correct, where's the money coming from and how is it made back?

Just checked this out. They are charging (not paying) 2000 to register for the product. It seems to allow one to run alts as bots or something. Nice sim by the way Dekka.

And i bet some of your increased traffic is bots being controlled by people who've just bought it...

I'm pretty sure that a a traffic rating of 1245 does not equate to 1245 Avs visiting your parcel. I dont' know how that does translate to actual visitors, but it is not a 1 to 1 relationship.

Traffic is roughly 1 minute per point. 1245 woudl be roughly 1,245 minutes of time that one or more avatars spent on that parcel.
