Estate Question...

Renting half a sim, over the last 2 weeks lag has been getting worse and worse, with time dilation and physics fps dropping constantly to subpar levels.

Today checked stats I can see (can't see full since no estate rights) and there is 16000 active scripts, which sure seems to explain the lag even after a sim reboot.

When asking the estate owners if they could look into it, they showed up, claimed the lag is from high ARC, looked at scripts in the estate debug and mentioned see all avatars in the red on this list, which is from the high ARC.

after an hour of pestering that ARC has nothing to do with it, and that of the 16000 maybe 2000 is from the 11 avatars on the sim (which i was half right... it droped it to 15000 with just me), they said they would contact all the owners of land, and if they don't get it lowered will start reporting people for abuse of resources. Which is ludacris since they 'claim' the highest user is a guy with 1500 temporary scripts showing with average timing of 22ms .... 1500 does not equal close to 15000, to be penalizing him and reporting him.

Is there anything a normal user can do to try tracking down just *why* there is a rediculous amount of running scripts? or are we fubar on this... is there anything more the estate managers / sim owners can be doing to track it down?

Yeah, a fairly sharp estate owner can figure quite a lot out from sim stats and just looking around a little.

16,000 scripts is an incredible problem, if true. Regions start to get iffy at 4000, no matter how small the scripts. Due to the fact that there's overhead costs to managing that number of tasks.

Since you say you're renting half a sim, I can't picture the population density in your region to be all that high. 16000 active scripts is astronomical for *any* sim; but on one with just a few residents, that's completely ludicrous!

As Des stated, any estate manager worth his or her salt should know how to read and interpret the estate reports. If your estate managers and estate owner don't seem to have a clue or simply don't wish to fix the problem, then your only other recourse may be to find another estate - preferably to one with evidence of better management skills on the part of its owners and managers.

should also mention, standing right now....

Active Objects: 1348
Active Scripts: 15365

It really looks like someone is doing it intentially even if the estate owners claim to not be able to see it, cuz I know for sure on our half of the sim, we are not running 100 active scripts in each of our scripted objects....
