Apparently I'm wearing 2 skins!

Bought one and it was OK. Bought a better one and put it on - the old one is still (worn). What can I do about this and is this a problem?

The server could just be processing slower than usual. When you change skins the second one should replace the first. Wait a bit and see if the server catches up. If not, try changing skins one more time. You could also try one of the skins in the Library folder of your Inventory. See if that gets both other skins off your shape.

Contact the skin creator and see if they might have any suggestions. Be sure to look at their profile first to see how they want to be contacted. Many creators/designers will only respond to notecards. Be sure to Rename your notecard since nobody will bother with one called 'New Note'.

ALso, when changing your outfit,. it is wise to travel to your own home, or a rather empty SIM. This will make everything respond faster, and prompt.

So you won't have the insane lag get sometimes

Put the skin (or a copy of it) in a folder by itself, right-click and try "Replace Outfit".

If that doesn't help then Advanced / Character / Tests / Test Female will help, although that'll turn you back into the newbie ruth-like avie so do make sure you know where things like your regular shape is in your inventory before you give that a try.

It didn't seem to be a server lag problem - logged in this AM and I was still wearing two skins....

The Advanced/Character/Tests reload trick DID the trick. I was able to start from an original avatar and put back on only what I wanted. Extreme, but it worked.
