Hello fellow Lindens!
I am currently looking at a Acer laptop to purchase. It is Intel Core 2 T8100 3mb L2 cache, 2.1 Ghz 800MHZ FSB. It uses the Intel PM 965 Express Chipset. It has 4 gb of memory installed (DDR2 667 SDRAM), with Windows Vista 64 bit. It states "discrete NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS (512mb dedicated memory, up to 2023 shared system memory) My question is, is this chipset going to play nice in SL? I have tried to dig through the forums to find out about this chipset, but, could not find anything.

OK, I'll bite..... you should be OK with the onboard nvidia 9500 grafix adapter. Play safe and only use the dedicated video RAM..... shared memory leads to all sorts of unpleasant stability problems.

The system requirements say you can use anything above a 945 chipset. My laptop uses a 915/910 chipset which supposedly isn't supported. I probably don't have all the bells and whistle alot of other computers do, but I can still operate sl with it.
