I submitted a ticket yesterday because I can't log in. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for someone to respond (or better yet, fix it)?
Edited to add:
And what are the chances of ever reaching someone on the Live Chat support thing?

A couple of weeks? wow that's terrible!
I had TP'd to a location I found on search and crashed. Every time I try to log in, the status bar gets almost to the end and I crash again. I logged on an alt and tried to go to the same location and the same thing happend. Now both are locked up. Maybe the region will reset? and it will release my toons? Or go find another game to play now? lol |

I logged on an alt and tried to go to the same location and the same thing happend. Now both are locked up. Maybe the region will reset? and it will release my toons? Or go find another game to play now? lol Try this, go into preferences and clear your cache, then change your log in location, quit the SL application, then restart it and try logging in. If that doesn't work try deleting all SL program files, download and install a new copy and see if you can log in. If that all fails you will have to wait for LL to help you. If you want to tell us the location you crashed at we can check and see if your avatars are ghosted there and possibly get the land owner to eject them or restart the sim to see if that will free them up. _____________________

change your log in location Edit / Preferences - General, make sure "Show Start Location" is checked You'll see an edit control right under where you put your name (lower left corner), type the name of a sim there: Hahne (or Kara, pretty much any sim name will do). Just in case the OP doesn't know how . |

I've done three support tickets.
With two of them, the problem which I mentioned immediately disappeared the instant the support ticket was submitted. That suggests to me that there is some sort of "reset" button or something for accounts that is immediately tripped upon submitting a support ticket. In both cases, I withdrew the support tickets since the issue resolved itself. With the third support ticket, I got a response five days later. The response proudly proclaimed my issue to be "resolved." It was "resolved" by suggesting two possible fixes, both of which I had attempted before submitting the support ticket, and had mentioned specifically in my support ticket that I had tried those fixes and they failed. The problems continue intermittantly, but I have come to suspect that they are just part of the overall mess of SL that LL can't fix. My guess, based on my experience with support tickets, is that no one actually reads them. Responses are entirely automated. The first part of the automation is some sort of account "reset." Then the second part just searches for keywords in the text and spits out results that may or may not apply. I used Live Chat once. I got a support person right away. After stating my issue, the support person replied that it was a general SL problem that LL was already trying to resolve. And that turned out to be an accurate respionse. I count that as one instance of good support. |

The support ticket system really isn't very encouraging in my experience. Live chat on the other hand is absolutely bloody superb.

Then the second part just searches for keywords in the text and spits out results that may or may not apply. .There are Lindens involved, they just glance over the ticket and if it's a commonly occurring problem they simply copy/paste a resolution and consider it finished. They did the same thing when we had Live Help in-world. |

I submitted a ticket about my sim problems a couple of weeks back now and still nothing. Looks like I'll need to give Live Chat a go. _____________________

I have to agree about 'live chat'....Whenever I've used it, it's been so so helpful and my problems were sorted in a matter of minutes.
I don't own much land etc..but when I did have a problem with my meagre piece of the pie, I was treated very well and got things resolved.....(don't you just love that word).. |
