I need some help or ideas or best routes about renting out a portion of my land for residential purposes only. I know how to make a main group so the renters can be notified and whatnot. I know how to set up the multimedia on parcels.

What I’m unclear about is:
How do I set up the land for a renter to right click the land to *buy* for the set amount? Is that something really simple to do in the land options and I’m missing it?

I’m not doing the rental system set up because its only two parcels and I live on the 3rd.

Is it a good idea for the *renter* to make their own groups after their purchase to add their own permissions? To reduce chatter on the main group channel…

The division of lands –I’m still in Resident Answerer search on that, so I thought I might ask now.

Is there a common residential covenant somewhere that I could peek at and maybe see if there is something missed?

Any other suggestion there might need to be known about? Am I doing something wrong?

ANNND thanks again for any input made. You have all been so helpful in the past so I know where to go to get the right answers!

You just set the land for sale, but if you're renting only you want to go into the estate settings and disallow resale.

I find it far easier to set parcels for sale and allow people to pay their initial rent by buying the plot, it gives the tenant far more control and means you don't have to send them a group invite.

As for covenants, fly around to different estates and take a look. Some are very wordy, there's a good reason for that generally but if you want your plots to be residential only you should put that in the covenant and in the parcel name and description.

I see you titled your thread Island/Region. I do have to ask if you bought the land from the land store or if its MAINLAND. If it is mainland, your approach is completely different.

The Land store, sorry forgot to mention that part.
