Its been about 2 years, here's what i run into on a daily basis. Thought i'd share
RL friends will think youre wierd and theres nothing you can do about it.
SL friends come and go, very quickly.
Dont overanalyze conversations.
Rent before you buy.
Get over it.
3D design is fun.
Second life is really expensive.
Get a gym membership in real life to counterbalance the atrophy.
My avatar is actually making me take better of my RL self. something about muscles and hair...
A relative discovery: All that work I did with the Heart Garden plants, and then i find it looks like the garden at the local gas station.
Im waiting for better resolution before i try out all that kinky stuff.
A lot of so-called 'live' acts aren't. I dont mean DJs.
It costs more in electricity to run the computer that you're camping with than you are making while camping.**
** apparently I'm eating my words on this one.

The cost of running your computer vs. camping, well it depends on where you live and how much you pay for electricity. For me, I would make a profit camping vs. the cost of running the computer.

From: someone It costs more in electricity to run the computer that you're camping with than you are making while camping. It's true if you run only one client, and particularly true if you are in an expensive electricity market such as Europe. However, most campers are bots, running in excess of 10 clients per PC using the regular client .... many more than that using a stripped-down client.

From: Court Goodman It costs more in electricity to run the computer that you're camping with than you are making while camping. What if I leave my computer on all the time anyway? Doesn't really matter since I despise the idea of looking like a zombie.

Make informed choices. Don't just react. Decide what you want, or want to do, then go do it.
Hey, that works in RL, too!

From: lilly Margetts /disagree I have to agree with Lilly here. My two premium accounts at a combined 144US$ p.a. earn me stipends that would cost 137US$ to buy. Being a group of two, I deeded each 512 basic tier to make a 1024 plot which maintains no monthly tier cost. With the exception of the initial land purchase which if memory serves me was about 13US$ I'm spending 7US$ a year .. and having the time of my life.

From: Void Singer ok, I like telling bedtime stories (and in case anyone asks, no I don't, run bots that is)... ... you seriously hadn't heard of camp bots? : ighs:: sleep now, and dream of a pure untatinted SL... honestly i never paid attention to camping til recently. Im just now wondering if these campbots run on their owners systems or on hijacked zombie computers. There would be the power savings....

From: bilbo99 Emu ...I'm spending 7US$ a year .. and having the time of my life. That's because hobbits don't have to buy shoes. It's the shoes that make this place expensive.
