Is there a way to save/recover older IM logs?
Is there some way to automatically save them to disk as you go along?
I often stupidly forget to copy/paste them before closing windows, and lose info and URLs that way.

Yes, you can save them to your HD. In the Preferences menu, go to "Communications". There are check boxes to allow saving of IM and Chat Logs. It will show you the default save path, which you can change if you like.

I believe the default setting *is* to save them to your HD ... if, like me, you don't want them clogging up your disk you'll need to uncheck the box.

I discovered a long time ago that "off by default" means "It's all out there on my hard drive."
