Flying and walking downstairs issue

I know this is probably a quick and easy fix, but I am not very technical and am very stumped.
When my avi goes down stairs, off furniture, or drops down it does a full flip and then sinks very very slowly to the ground. It does it even when tp'ng to a new SIM.
Plus when she flies, it is done straight up and down and very slowly. She also won't hold her altitude and does a very slow sink.
Her running is non-existant too.

How can I fix this???

don't fly downstairs for one. yes sinking while floating exists and its thousands of people effected, the rest of your symptoms sound like good old plain lag.

I wasn't flying down the stairs.. more like flipping. When I fly, I do it straight up and down. It isn't just lag either, it happens no matter where I am.

This might be a obvious question but I will ask anyways:

Are you by any chance wearing a AO (animation overrider) that might be acting up?

The not holding altitude could be due to the fact that without assistance (i.e a flight feather or the likes) you cannot fly very high at all .. i think its in the region of 200M, but not sure. I suggest getting a flight feather which are free pretty much anywhere, if I was logged in I would send one to you.

As for the sinking into the ground, that happens sometimes when crossing sim borders. Also when standing up from furniture, it could be the scripts used that are allwing you to sit that are borked. Could also be an AO mess up as the PP said.

i wonder if you are wearing the free gangsta or ninja AO. one of those has a the flipping instead of a run animation( or the flipping IS your run animation). to check and see take off your AO .

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

maybe my AO?

I flip when going down stairs, off or furniture or crossing sim lines. I don't run any more. I have a good AO that I have been using for a while (VA Vista) but the problem still persists even when I take off the AO. My avi doesn't run anymore either. Is this something I should take up with Vista?
Thank you ALL for the responses.

I believe its a Havok4 issue, one they have made better with subsequent roll outs of updates but it still persists and is variably noticable depending on the animations you use for landing, jump etc.

I cannot quote the specific JIRA as my JIRA-chlorians count is too low but maybe someone else can.

Running is a toggled function. CTRL+R to turn it on or off.

Also, in the new release candidate viewer (1.20), a double tap on the up arrow key will enable running.

I think it's an AO issue. When going down stairs, steep ones, you run down them automatically without even toggling 'run' on. Same thing with getting off a furniture, sometimes you run very briefly. Same thing going down a steep slope. I replaced my running animation in my AO and I've noticed these things happen.

Make sure you right click yourself and 'detach all' and then test it out because any attachment can contain an AO script and you can wear more than one AO at the same time.

Thank you Bree. It was a piece of scripted jewelry that I worn for over 6 months. I didn't even think to take it off. I have known how to make my avi move, run and fly, but it just started acting weird. Guess the collar went bad!
