yeah I know, but its sad, our shape is one of the things that can make us truly individual in SL, it's a shame people all want to go for the 'same' shape again and again. Sorry I couldn't help with the answer you wanted.

Sorry I couldn't help with the answer you wanted. This is why shapes for sale should always be modifiable. I think of them like . . . Oh, like a patch on a synthesizer. It's easy to make a new sound/ timbre on a synthesizer, but a little harder to make a nice one. So I think musicians buy some preset patches and then tweak them to get a more unique, but still nice, sound. Shapes should work this way.

I still recommend using the sliders. Choose the basic avatar closest to how you want to look and just make minor adjustments. That's what I did. My skin is Celestial Studios, by the way - I recommend as good, slightly understated and natural look.

Some of us just don't have the eye or the touch to make a shape that looks half way decent. If you can, wow, great, wonderful. For those of us who can't "use the sliders, it is so so easy" is useless.

Try these shops -
Torrid Midnight's Haver Cole's Naughty Island Nomine Here Comes Trouble
You can try my shop too, but I didn't want to make this an ad for me.
Anyone can make a house in SL too. Some are better at Shapes, some are Better at houses.
Id suggest buying a shape that has Mod/Copy Permissions.

For those of us who can't "use the sliders, it is so so easy" is useless. That and one of the problems with SL is everyone is praising of each other's appearance all the time. If someone did come up with a bad looking shape on their own, no one would tell them to their face. ----------------- Same goes for builds. You can see a build with lots of bad seems and texture bleed etc. If I bet you 200L that someone told that person it was a great build, I'd win. All those garish clubs out there - have tons of people saying how great they look ..

shameless plug
I will be putting up some shapes for sale soon, you can see one of them in another thread here, it is with a skin I made
been seeing a lot of folks asking about shapes so figured why the heck not sell the ones I made
if no one buys then I am not out anything (unlike skins, clothes, etc, where it does cost to upload all the textures)
well it will cost to upload the ad image but that is just one upload hehe

taco taco taco has nice shapes- she has petite, average, model, thick....she also puts dress shapes in and if not ask her she'll make it no charge.
I have to say in over a year in SL I still tweak my shape here and there. Good luck in finding that perfect shape (and you'll probably end up adjusting it just make a backup in case of troubles)

I have to ask, what the heck is QFT?? I know what IBL is (in before lock) and FYI (for you information) and ftw (for the win) and imho (In my humble opinion) and a few others but not QFT, have seen it in a few posts, now I am curious what it means
