The Reader's Garden is moving to a new location on Info Island! This is a much more central location for us. We will be near several other venues that also host book talks: Mystery Manor, SciFi & Fantasy Portal, and the Peace Park. I've attached an SLURL so you can see our new home: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Info%20Island/98/177/33/?title=Reader%27s%20Garden
As we rebuild the Garden, it is a good time to ask for input. We will still have the patio area for book talks. Are there other things you would like us to include? Contact Princess Ivory with ideas.
Be creative, and think outside the box. What would you find beneficial as a resource that would help you, if it were at the Garden? What would facilitate your meetings and gatherings? We currently have a patio of a 20 meter range for small gatherings for book talks and group meetings. The site has been used recently by the Virtual Book Group, as well as by other groups recently, including hosting the weekly meeting of the Poetry Guild, and hosting several meetings for various member groups of the role play sim Realm of Everwind.
Our goal is to serve as a venue for other groups. If you are in need a a permanent home for your group meetings, we would welcome having you join us. You will be included on our member list on our blog, and I handle all of the PR to promote your event to the Second Life community.
Is there information you need? Gadgest that would facilitate conversation (we have recently created a scripted object that allows the writer to drop his notecard into the object, and it will be auotmatically distributed to everyone within range on the meeting patio, for example).
We have a Google Calander, a blog with an RSS freed, and an inworld Group;, Book Discussion Circle, with open membership. Please join us.
I look forward to receiving your feedback, and your membership!
