Hi, this is day 8 of my SL experience (basic account), so bear with me.

Several days ago, I went ahead and put a credit card on file on my account. It shows fine from the My Account page.

But....if I look at my ingame profile, it still says Payment not on File.

Is this something I should look to support for? Or a normal delay? Or are the two things not related?

Nope...I'm a cheapo. Is that it...not only do I have to have a card on file...they actually expect me to use it?! How dare they!

It's not like I need the L$. I only need it to upload content, and I can get all I need for that from camping chairs while I'm working on scripts/animations/etc. (oops...sorry another thread entirely)

You have to use payment at least once to have the account information refresh. Also, that's when your Linden limits start counting up.

Even if you make no purchases, it *should* switch to saying "Payment Info on file" a few days after you enter the information on the website. But updating that is a low priority task at LL. If you actually USE the credit card and buy even one US Dollar worth of Lindens, then it almost immediately switches over to "Payment Info Used". That is an automated task, so there's virtually no delay.

To be honest, I don't think that has existed in SL for *at least* the last 4 months (more likely much longer, I know someone who joined 4 months ago, has repeatedly put CC info in, and SL STILL claims that they are NO Payment Info on File).

It would be *really* nice if LL would let people know when they change important policy like this.

(Yes, I do know that is a Pipe dream, nice pipe though...

)
