You need to learn some scripting, the main things to investigate are llHTTPRequest() and XML-RPC. Best resource to read up on examples etc. is either of: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Portalhttp://lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=HomePageHowever it's going to take a lot of learning and design, as you need to think very carefully about how you're doing this stuff, security is especially important if you want to be able to pay out money to avatars, as you don't want someone being able to send fake requests to your system and take all your money.

In world objects communicate with the web at large using the communications functions in the native scripting language LSL. The LSL wiki is a good place to start. Check under communcagtions for XML-RPC & HTTP http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Portal

erm not very constructiv *gg* but funny indeed Actually i think 2k's point was very constructive though possibly unintentional. The point being that constructing something similar to SLExchange is large complicated undertaking that requires a talented team with a wide breadth of skills. The days of the lone hobbiest cobbling together a successful web enterprise in their spare time is quickly drawing to a close. If it hasn't passed already. I don't want to discourage you, but if you are set on creating an SL based web business, it is going to require a substantial investment of research and planning time which, like how to build a rocket to the moon, is far beyond the scope of the information to be found on these forums. To answer your other question, LSL is the SL API. If you mean the Risk API, which is something else entirely, that information should be in the knowledge base (but i'm not sure where).

I have read the faq on API I don't entirely get it but you can try to decipher the meaning in the knowledge base. Based on the information there no one should be doing big Linden transactions with anyone they don't know.

The points about this being a complex undertaking are good ones. But, OP, don't let that discourage you.
There are a couple of approaches. 1. Try to homebrew your own site and scripts. You can go this route, if you are a talented programmer. Or, 2. See if SL Exchange or OnRez will license their technology to you. Probably not, but what the heck, it's worth an inquiry.
