Ok, I keep getting mixed messages on how much to charge someone for a custom sculpted prim with full permissions. There are some sculpties that are easy and some very difficult but still too hard to set a good price. Sometimes i give what i think is a fair price and they walk away saying its too expensive. So i try to ask them to name a price and they just seem to not know what to say lol. Since i'm the one making the sculpty its usually expected of me to give them the price for it. But i want to make sure its fair for both of us. I'm very interested in your guy's opinions.

Honestly, it's your call, you're the only person who can put a value on your work. If people walk away, let them walk away, don't undersell yourself.
To try and find a price guide, maybe search Xstreet for similar products than add something on for it being custom work. |

There is a big difference between the charge for a custom sculpty that you can also sell to anyone else, and one that you agree will not be sold to anyone else. Ciaran's suggestion of checking the prices of similar items is a good one, but only if you can and will sell it to anyone else as well. If the customer wants it exclusively, then charge for your RL time. If it's too much for them, then let them go elsewhere, or learn to make them themselves. Remember that the only way you can make a sculty is in your RL time, which should be charged for accordingly.
