So today I call LL for some help with a delayed credit processing to my PayPal. I only wanted to know WHY it had been delayed. So I get a guy who, for all the world, might have been speaking a different language. When taking my address, he asked me to spell "Pennsylvania", at which point I asked where HE was from. "Northeast of England, Newcastle" he replied. Now I am NOT an elitist American, but honestly, I couldn't understand a WORD. He had to repeat things three, four and even five times for me to "get" it. I'm not saying the guy doesn't deserve his job, but can't we give him a DESK JOB????? And to boot, he tells me the delay is because my name is different on the SL account than it is on the PayPal account. It IS?? I took care of BOTH when I got married last year. For the past year, in fact, we have withdrawn from SL twice a month with NO PROBLEM, so suddenly it's an issue???

Anyone else had any trouble with Billing "Support"??

Get your husband to talk to him.

Pep (Newcastle isn't far from where he comes from)

PS I love the Geordie accent when it is issuing from a female mouth, but it can be difficult to understand.

Thanks Pep...he says he has a rough time with that accent as well sometimes. :: shrug ::

BTW, you were a blast at the wedding....although the "I'm with the bride" tag over your head was met with varying degrees of enthusaism. ;P

Hahaha, the Newcastle accent is notoriously incomprehensible.

Just thank your lucky stars he wasn't from Glasgow.

I had fun too. ;) At least I had changed the tag from the one I normally wear: "I knew the bride . . ."

Pep (" . . . when she used to rock and roll" as in Nick Lowe's wonderful song.)

LOL

I believe this is sort of a prerec' for customer support in most US companies now....I just got off the phone with HP (cat chewed thru my printer power cord lol) and the guy sounded like he was probably Columbian or something Latin'ish LOL. I don't think I remember the last time I spoke to a CS rep and got a person with an American accent....well except for the Texas company where we bought our safe......then it was all good ole boys. :p

But, I will say I do pride myself in the fact that I can actually understand Brad Pitt in the movie 'Snatch' ~!!!

But, about the issue at hand......Paypal lately has been really wiggy...I don't trust them any more......too many odd ball issues (and not pertaining to SL.....just in general) The last straw for me was when I transferred $ into Paypal....and my bank clearly showed the transfer.....and Paypal was telling me they never got it. On no no no.....not acceptable. It was cleared up in a few days....but I never did get a clear explanation from Paypal about what happened to that money. So...I don't use em any more.

I hope you weren't too worried that some poor woman had succumbed to my svengaliesque charms. ;)

Pep (You can spread the rumour to 3Ring though; doubtless she would have been soooooo disappointed. )

The tide is turning abit in CS. Some places are bringing their call centers back stateside, most notably the airlines, because of the complaints of not understanding the operators, and overall poor quality of service.

Well Pep, the woman you were with seemed pretty enamoured! The fact that she spent most of her time in a submissive slave pose at your feet would also lead me to believe she had long before "succumbed." ;)

I was just teasing Pep...she was a beautiful avi, and she wasn't really at his feet. Now the "There's another good relationship ruined" comment at the point of exchanging vows might have been viewed by some as...um..."bad timing." Oh, and Pep, passing me a bull whip while at the altar??? ROFLMAO! I spit Pepsi all over my monitor....lololol. In all seriousness, though, at the end of the day, Pep was the life of the party and even joined in the conga line.

I plead guilty on all counts . . .

Pep ( . . .except it wasn't a bullwhip, but a Manbeater! My normal wedding present to the bride.)

PS I am not going to tell you what the groom's present is.

So back to you :) Sorry was laughing and could not resist ^^

First ***congratulation with your wedding ****Wish you all the very best with future!

As I am from Germany (I try to speak 3 languages) I know about this language problem and I often have difficulties to understand people from the far south of Germany ( I am in the north). But I manage to understand people on the phone who are from USA or England or Australia - never mind I need to spell my location.

So no, I really don't want to push them away from the phone. As billing informations are pretty easy to check for the Lindens, I guess this guy was just right. If he tells you the CC shows another info than the Paypal - so you can bet your last Linden Dollar- he is right. You may need to double check your PayPal account to make sure - everything - is up2date (!)

On other hand, I never use my CC card. I transfer cash from my Bank to my PayPal account (if needed) *lol and I am ready to go.
