I logged on yesterday, only to find that the whole of the region i reside in has gone. After further investigation, it seems that the estate agent has 'removed' the land for the whole region, due to some people not paying their tier fee. We had no warning this was going to happen, and so when i logged on, all my buildings and their contents and surroundings which i had bought/built had vanished. Now i can understand the land being taken, but not the personal content that was on that land. How do i get all my contents of that land back e.g. castle, house, skybox etc. The estate agent claims to not know where it all went. I really want all my stuff back so i can rebuild elsewhere. Can SL or Linden Labs just restore my stuff to my inventory from a server, because I don't think that it would all disappear into thin air. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may have been returned to your lost and found folder in the shape of one large 'coalesced' object... that is, a lump of stuff with a little mound of cubes as the icon. You need to go to a large sandbox and try to rezz any items in your lost and found that look like this, and you can find the latest one by sorting the folder according to date.
Good luck.

Looked in my Lost and Found, ordered by date, and there is no trace of my stuff that vanished from the land from Malibu Isles. I can accept that the estate agent can retake the land, because it belongs to them, but not the contents which belong to the resident(s). Hopefully Sl or LL can restore all off my lost/stolen content from Malibu Isles to my Inventory on my account at the very least.

Contact support. There were situations like that when LL opened up the region again for a bit so people could get back their stuff.

With a huge amount of work, LL can restore the island to the state it was before being wiped, and then you can get your stuff back before they wipe it again. I don't think there's any other way for them to get stuff that was rezzed in-world back into your inventory without getting that sim back online first. (By the way, if the Estate manager really did shutdown the sim without returning everybody's stuff first, s/he is a moron. I'm guessing it's more likely that, instead, s/he's a deadbeat, and LL shut it down for lack of payment.) Now... how to go about getting the sim back online long enough to retrieve your stuff? Renting on an Estate suggests you may not be a Premium member, which means it will be difficult to contact LL directly for support. Somebody else may have a suggestion for how to proceed... or maybe some Estate owner will help you make your case. (It may also be useful if you can rally support from any other renters on that island who lost their stuff, too.)

You might try clearing your Cache a couple of times in case the items haven't cleared yet. It can take a while I seem to recall...
In case you don't know how to do this, go to Edit at the top of your screen, Choose preferences, Network tab, Clear Cache, then relog. Then check the lost and found again... look for the little cube mound... it wont say anything helpful like "all my objects i lost from my land". It usually takes the name of one item in the bunch. It could just be called 'object'.
If this doesn't work, you could try a support ticket.

If the land went down because the owner didn't pay the tier and the land was reclaimed, goodness knows what happens in that case. Contacting LL would be your only hope to find out... Unless another Forum member knows what happens in these cases?

Unless another Forum member knows what happens in these cases? if a sim gets taken offline it usualy still exists for a while longer but simply is not connected to the grid anymore, LL can and will restore access for a breif period to get your stuff back, just contact them, there are a few ticket types you can open as non premium members so you can try your luck there, alternatifly you can get the help of a premium member to file a ticket for you.

It's not like s/he doesn't know the consequences of the action, and it's easy enough to return all objects first.

The ideal would be all reclaimed islands have all items auto-returned prior to closure, but I imagine that LL might avoid doing that in hopes the missed payment was a mistake or billing error that can be corrected. BTW, do we know if the island was reclaimed by LL, the island owner just booted everyone, or if the island owner sold the island to a new owner?

Having been a resident of SL for over a year now, I know that sometimes objects can take a while to be returned. Case in point: My partner and RL in SL had a dolphin returned to him after being 'lost' for over 3 months...lol!!! And, several of my acquaintances in SL have told similar stories...it either disappeared from the land, or was returned. Ask me sometime about the dancing snowman I rezzed on our sim...*giggles* So...your items are out there somewhere, partying it up in Linden Limbo, lol!!!
And...I have also returned items from property before...on accident *blushes*...and it took about 2 weeks before it all came back as what I fondly refer to as a prim cluster, LOL!

Does the sim still show up as a valid location if you look it up with the map? If it does not, then the Lindens most likely took it off-line for lack of payment on the sim. Your stuff is still there, but the simulator it was runnig on has been locked out of the grid until the sim owner pays their maintenance bills. *Sometimes* this happens due to a simple mistake, such as the credit card that should have been billed for the monthly maintenance fee didn't have quite enough credit line free for this month's billing, and it wasn't resolved promptly when the sim owner was notified there was a billing problem. If I had to bet, I would guess this to be the most likely reason. You can submit a support ticket or asl a Linden for help in getting access to your stuff, if this is the case.
If the sim shows as a valid location on the map, but you can't teleport to it, then it is possible the estate manager or sim owner set the entire sim to "No Public Access", and your name isn't on the access list. This would be a very stupid thing to do if some residents are in good order on their bills, but others are not paying. They risk losing ALL their residents in trying to keep out a few deadbeats.
If other people can TP to the sim, but you can't, and you get no clear indication that you are prohibited from teleporting to that location, then you may have a local problem on your computer. Try clearing cache and possibly try reinstalling the SL client.

Maybe a trivial point, but you do know that when multiple items get returned to you inventory, you don't see the individual items, right? They appear as a "coalesced" item in Lost and Found, usually named after one of the items that was returned (at random). The way you know it's a coalesced item is the icon - it look likes a cube that has been broken apart. If you had a lot of items, then there may be several. but often I've thought I didn't have them, and did.
You need to rez that somewhere and you will see all of he items and then you cna take them back into your inventory, one at a time.
'Course, you might already know that, but just in case....
Good luck!

I am curious if you get your stuff back becuase I have been losing items left and right. I tried to rez the coalesed object and an error popped up saying that i didnt have permission to rez and all of my items in my inventory from my land were gone. The online support coudlnt fix it and I had a support ticket in and havent had a response of any kind yet. I pay a hefty tier every month, obviously that makes no diference to whether you get a response on your request.
