Current Last Name List

been toying with the idea of making an alt account for rp, so i thought i'd take a gander at the current last name list. so i log out of the web page and go to join now... and there's no list. you put in a first name, and you can browse through four pages of last names to go with it. if you change the first name (or even if you dont, and just hit the change button), you apparently get a different list of last names.

is there any way i can sign up with a full list of current last names to peruse? i dont know which one i like until i seem them ALL at least THREE TIMES! i'm gonna suppose that the alternate sign-up places they used to have (you know, like ben & jerry's or whatever) are gone now?

gives you flexible access to all available last names, I think, and doesn't require you to give as much rl information as some other registration mechanisms.

The reason the list changes when you change the first name is because that first name has already been used with many of the last names, and you are only given a list of the ones that haven't been used yet.

In the past, you used to select a last name and then try first names to go with it, but the current way is better as it saves keeping on trying last names to go with the desired first name, only to find that so many of them are already taken.

Always comforting to know that a 3rd party registrar is keeping your login info and using it for spammage/support. I'd suggest changing that info on the Secondlife account portal ASAP.

Hopefully your alt name will be as cool as your current avatar name.

Presumably you can just leave the groups straight away. Anybody know what groups they are? Also, what's the "cheat code" thing?

Try slnamewatch.com - they can give you a list of all currently active names, and they have a service that tracks which name is available at what portal to make it easier to find a registration server where you can get the name of your choice.
