Where are the roads?

I've been exploring SL and have noticed some of the roads are missing. The land is owned by the Gov. Linden, appears to have been a road at one time but is just grass. Anyone know why this is? Im just curious. :)

It was probably never a road. When the continents were laid out spaces were allocated for roadbeds but they have been remiss in actually laying the actual roads in the beds.

The Lindens usually reserve land in newly gridded Mainland regions to keep paths open for public right-of ways. Both for ground/sea level travel and low flying aircraft. These can take the form of roads, waterways and sometimes just simple pathways. There are some paths that were laid out that were probably meant to be paved at some point, especially if there were nearby roadways to conenct to. I have found paths in some regions that look like they were never mean to be paved, but still maintained as Linden-owned pathways. Especially in the snow regions of Sansara.

Most likely not a road yet, but in progress. Feel free to drive along it, eventually you should run into pavement (or railroad track).
