I have a major problem and it is driving me crazy.
Today I went to take a photo of myself that I wanted to post here but it was too big but, that is not the problem. While taking the photo I messed around with the settings for the area and now my colors are all messed up.
Also, the camera controls at the top of the page are all out of whack. The one on the right that lets you scan the area without moving, well, it works fine. The other one, the one that lets you rotate around the room, it is all out of whack. When I go to use it now it does a really wide scan and then when you position it back in front of the AV...the AV is way off in the distance.
And the final problem. When I go to click on to anything at SL I hear a noise that sounds like one of those wrenches you use to tighten up a lug on your car tire. It is driving me insane.
I have uninstalled SL, re-installed SL, rebooted my computer and nothing seems to work. All was fine until I took that stupid picture, which turned out fantastic by the way but too big to use here.
PLEASE someone help me

I'd sure try to help but sadly I have no idea what's wrong. Perhaps some information would help - are you using the standard client viewer? A PC or a mac? Have you tried a different region, an area with few prims, a basic avatar? Does the 'lag meter' show issues with your connexion or your region or anything? Wireless router, keyboard or mouse involved? This may have to wait for smarter people than me, I'm sure it's horribly frustrating and sorry it happened to you. Best of luck and I hope someone comes along soon.

Did you manually delete the SL Application Data folder when your reinstalled? You won't get a truly 'clean' install unless you you do that as well.

Wow, what odd group of problems.
I have a couple of ideas.
The camera controls and the odd noises both sound like You are wearing "stuff".
I would try removing any and all HUDs and attachment to your AV. You could be wearing something that takes some control over your camera/view.
Your color issue is hard to pinpoint without more information. What setting did you change? I don't think windlight settings are retained between logins(could be very wrong there).
There is a way to reset your viewer that uninstalling/reinstalling sometimes does not do.
Deep within C:Windows/owner/Application data folder(sometimes hidden) named secondlife. Delete the folder with Your AVs name and it will refresh your viewer completely on the next log in. ((i only know XP, it could be elsewhere on different OS))
please post more info/ specs so we can all help more =)
good luck

From: Alisha Matova Delete the folder with Your AVs name Actually, delete the entire Application Data folder to be sure all settings return to their default state. You will get some annoying popups for a while, but it's not a big deal.

oo ok that does make sense =) There needs to be a "delete the application data folder" next to clear cache.

Sorry forgot to tell you my system...it is Vista. I messed with the cloud controls, color controls, sun controls.
I just did the standard uninstall on my computer and it is a PC not a laptop

OK, for Vista, it's C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife. Uninstall SL, delete that folder, then reinstall.

I don't have vista but sometimes when I am lagging bad my camera with newest version seems to want to move everywhere by itself usually clearing cache and relogging to less laggy place helps. If you're trying to zoom into your face and can't control camera trying going in advance, uncheck disable camera constraints, rezz a prim behind your head click the cube zoom into that slowly until you get your face close enough to do the camera shot. Yet sometimes I can't get close enough even with disabled away. Also if you click prim and select blank and add light it gives you some illumination. Torley also has tutorial on his site too about how zoom in your face but I don't remember the link nor do I remember exactly off the top of my head how to make the advance window show. I really wish they made those features more easily accessible to everyone because there are features like disable away, rebake, disable camera that are helpful.

Well "gang" I thank each and everyone of you for your help. I have gone in and deleted all of the old information, uninstalled and reinstalled and it is still not working correctly.
I am going to let the computer rest and see if it all goes away like a bad dream. If not I will be back to see what advice I may have missed.
Thank you all again

OK now that I have had some sleep let me see if I cannot tell you better what is going on here.
I wanted to take a picture so, I messed around with the colors to get the right coloring for my picture. I went into world/enviroment/sunset I then went into the advanced section of that and started messing with the clouds, sun etc. . I believe I saved one of my selections and this may be what I am stuck in. Is there any way to reset these controls to the original settings.
I then used the camera controls to zoom in and out and around to get the right angle for my picture. Now when I go to my camera controls they are all messed up. When I use the control on the left ( to rotate) it does a very wide rotation and then when I am back in the center I am far away. I used to be able to start walking and then these controls would go back to normal but, that is not happening now.
I am also hearing a clicking sound since I messed with all of this. I have never heard this noise before and I am wearing the things I normally wear. I believe this clicking noise has something to do with the camera controls, I don't know.
I am using Vista on a PC and I have uninstalled, removed the original files, and reinstalled and even rebooted after being logged off for several hours. Logged back on a few minutes ago and it is all still whacky.
Please can someone tell me what to do or who to write with this issue.

I am very sorry you are having such troubles=/ I have a couple ideas for you to try. For the color issues go back into the environmental editor and choose a default config. There is a drop down menu on the first dialog. I don't think the settings are retained between log ins, but i could be wrong. The wonky camera controls made me think of something I did a while back. Holding Crtl 0 or CRTL 8 zoom in and out. and CRTL 9 centers the view again. When logged in hold CRTL 9 and see if anything changes. Again I don,t think these settings are retained between log in either, but its worth a try. Hmm The only way a noise could follow you around(i assume you have tried different sims) is if you are wearing it. I would drop all and any attachments and HUDs just to eliminate them as a problem. I believe the only way any of these problems could persist a complete viewer refresh is if you have something attached to your AV. open your inventory and search for " worn", this will bring up everything you are wearing. Detach any and all objects you have on. I am certainly running out of ideas.....do you have this color problem on other programs? or just SL? Are you positive you deleted the application data folder associated with SL? best of luck!! maybe this bump will find someone who has experienced one of these issues. Alisha
