Anyone use Synergy to share a keyboard and mouse between two computers?

I do, and it works fine except in SL. When I run SL on the client computer and slide the cursor to the client monitor, the camera goes nuts. The slightest movement might make your view spin around and end up pointing straight up, or other weird stuff.

It's been this way for years now. It's not an important issue at all, but it bugs me every six months or so till I stop using the second machine to run Second Life on.

I have the same problem Sue. It's not just you. I dunno that Synergy has been updated recently, it seems like it has been abandoned.

i do too and have the same problem so i use the camera controls when mouse is on that computer, it get a little better if you play with the mouse speed setting on the 2nd computer and turn off acceleration but still messes up bad when alt looking
the synergy bug list says
Use the "relativeMouseMoves" option, with the option "lock to the
screen".
See here: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/configuration.html

EDIT:
i found this works!
in C:\
make a text file called "synergycfg.txt"
and put this in it:

section: options
relativeMouseMoves = true
keystroke(NumLock) = lockCursorToScreen(toggle)
end

next add this line to Target "C:\Program Files\Synergy\synergy.exe" -config synergycfg.txt
the the icon properties on desktop

now when you press numlock key it locks cursor to that screen and works then you need to press numlock again to move between screens again

Thanks.

I wonder how that works with starting Synergy at bootup and thus not having a shortcut involved.

As it happens, Synergy goes bad often enough that I do end up starting it with a shortcut a lot of the time.

There's another mouse keyboard and clipboard sharing utility which I don't recall the name of at the moment, although I think I may have downloaded it, whatever it's name is.
