For some reason I am not allowed to log into my account or any other account. I get the following message:
Login Failed. Second Life can not be accessed form this computer.
If you feel this is an error, please contact support@secondlife.com.
That is the message I get. I would really like to find out why I can't log on. Also when I tried contacting the email I received an auto response saying that the email isn't used anymore.
Best,
Zaack Aeon

From: Zaack Aeon That is the message I get. I would really like to find out why I can't log on. Also when I tried contacting the email I received an auto response saying that the email isn't used anymore. I would suggest calling Linden Lab or going to the support portal ( http://www.secodnlife.com/support ) and entering a ticket there. Usually, I believe, that message is for accounts LL has closed for some reason, so contacting them is prob'ly best. Mari

From: Zaack Aeon If you feel this is an error, please contact support@secondlife.com. From: noreply@secondlife.com Thank you for contacting Linden Lab, the makers of Second Life. Our support system has changed and we have discontinued the use of this email address. To find information on your issue and to contact support, please visit http://secondlife.com/support . Please note, information sent to this email address will not be read or responded to. Somebody's been sleeping on the job. Anyway, you can file a ticket per Mari's suggestion but you'll have to be patient as it can take over a week to get a response on a ticket (it could be sooner but it varies). Generally speaking, it means that Linden Lab has blocked access from your IP address and that is usually done either because of a security issue or because someone misbehaved so badly in Second Life while logged in from your computer or from a computer using your internet access point that Linden Lab has cutoff all access from the IP address.

If you have a dynamic IP address it is possible that it changed to one that is banned.
If you know you have a dynamic one you can turn off your router for an extended period of time to get a new one. Depending on your ISP it might have to be off for anywhere from 5 minutes to 4 hours.
If that fails contact support as the previous posts stated.

I just logged in and found your profile in search. You are still a resident, you haven't been deleted so at least that adds to evidence it's a computer issue rather than an account one - even if that's not much help. I also sent you a test message - not much use really but it was stored.

It's just a bug. I got this last time they did rolling restarts. Keep trying, it'll eventually clear.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the client can sometimes clear this.

This is gonna sound strange. And I'm not attacking anyone. This is not directed at the OP, just a general observation. I know this is a help forum, but this is actually a question you should never answer. The error message is vague and asks the person to contact LL directly. There is a good reason for this. I understand and agree with what some people have posted that the vast majority of the time this is an erroneous error. But there's still that outside chance the message popped up because the user is under investigation by LL for some reason. LL may want to hear from them in RL to verify things like CallerID or ask them verification questions. Someone may even have unknowingly transacted L$ with someone else under investigation and LL is trying to follow the trail. If a user is truly legit and not a problem then LL will be able to sort that out eventually. Yes I know that it's a pain and will likely take alot longer than posting here, and that's a shame. LL should have better customer service such that people won't hesitate to contact them, rather than coming here first. And the contact info provide should damn well be accurate and current. :rolleys: I won't hold my breath. OTOH, If the user actually is up to no good, there's a slim possibility LL could actually catch them this way. I'm sure the seasoned bad guys know all about this. But it might catch a budding "entrepreneur" before they can get far. I implore all of you, if someone asks this question, please reiterate that they should contact LL directly to get it fixed and nothing more. With some luck it might just make SL a better place by one.
