Weird problem with mesh skirts

I've been having a weird problem with mesh (non-prim) skirts lately and I wonder if anyone else is too.

Don't know if it matters but I am using RC 1.19 which I (otherwise) adore.

Here's the problem: I put on a mesh skirt and it does not show.

When I go into "edit appearance" it is there, but when I leave edit it disappears again - maybe just a thin line around the waist shows.

The first time this happened, relogging, clearing cache, &c. did not fix it. I was able to fix it by: making myself scrawny (body fat 0, body width 0), exiting edit, and wearing my old shape again.

The second time it happened that trick did not work. No idea why it should have worked the first time.

Any thoughts? I have beautiful new things that I cannot wear because of this. Is it a bug in RC 1.19? Is it something else?

I have seen strange things happening with clothing textures recently. You could try to rebake as well as they things you have mentioned.

And vote for the jira.

Didn't Windlight have that issue several versions ago? I thought they fixed it. Oh, wait, it's LL...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Indeed it does. I have voted. Tomorrow when I am not up past my bedtime I will try some of the posted workarounds. How irritating - I bought three lovely outfits tonight that all have mesh skirts and I cannot enjoy them. :(

Yup, windlight DID have this issue several versions ago. I haven't noticed it yet in the new RC update...but I don't wear the mesh skirs that much cause they always just look too dorky (would somone please come up with a new skirt template lol)

Thanks for this, Rhaorth - this worked for me, at least on one outfit - I ran 1.18.5 and initially was not able to see the skirt, but it appeared when I rebaked. Then I quit and ran the RC 1.19 and the skirt appeared properly.

Whatta pain. Good thing I still had 1.18.5 installed.

I was surprised upon reading the JIRA page how old of a bug this is.

Milla - in this case it's not a dorky mesh skirt but just the flared bottom portion of a corset, made out of the mesh skirt layer. It looks really cool! Also mesh skirts do not always look dorky - on a slim dress like a cheongsam, for example, they can look very nice.

I've been having this problem for weeks -- glad someone else got around to mentioning it. Rebaking hasn't helped. I use both viewers and hadn't noticed a pattern when it happened, so I'm glad to see it might be test-viewer-related.

This just happened to me, too! Not sure I still have 1.18.5..any idea how to find it online?

Thanks...
