I really wanted to find something based on Tron in SL, but haven't found it.

I know of many Gor sims (based on the Gor books) but I cannot recommend, or not recommend a Gor sim.

There were at least two sims based on the Beauty trilogy by Ann Rice. Look for "Beauty" in search. I've been informed that "Bonds of Beauty" is no more, but Beauty should still be there.

There are several good Star Trek stores (selling uniforms, or the like), but I do not know of a RPing sim.

I know there are Star Wars sims but I've always assumed they were war zones, and kept out. Any good ones that are not completely war zones?

I heard there was a Firefly one, but I haven't been able to find it . . . again

I'd love to find a Stargate one, but other than Stargates, and uniforms, I can't find a sim dedicated to Stargate.

There's the Indy Experience, which is neat, but can't include a picture of because of the limitations.

Both Transformers and Die Hard have made it into SL, but neither has a RPing sim. Had pictures of both, but again remove one because of limitations.

So, is King's Wasteland series in SL? David Weber's Honor series? Any other lovely little places to play in SL based on fiction created outside SL?

Me, I've always wanted to find a "Mainframe" - it'd be alphanumeric!

There's a Firefly spaceship in the Rua sim. It's not a full Firefly sim, but they've definately put a lot of great work into the ship. I think you can get there from the main teleporter sign at the Caves of Rua. If not, you can at least go to Deepspace from that sign, and I know there's a teleporter there to take you to the ship.

Thanks :) That is where my picture was taken, but I couldn't remember where that was located.

There are FOUR Firefly-based roleplaying sims.

1. Washtown - the great grandaddy of firefly sims.
2. Serenity Landing - a great frontier city-based sim.
3. Blackburne - home of Firefly's bar...occasionally plagued by giant, mutant space ants.
4. Tirian Falls - a firefly-themed penal colony, set on a forested world. Fresh veggies...and an Alliance mining rig.

I know that three out the four offer residential opportunities for those intersted in living where they play. Check 'em out.

Not all warzones...

Many of them can be warzones (or at least may be frequented by those who are only too happy to try to make it such), and for that reason best avoided unless you are prepared for it, however here are a few that aren't and are definitely worth a visit.

(Apologies, I can't log into SL at the moment so I can't post SLURLs, but all of these can be found by typing the name into Search/Places)

1. "Ossus Praxeum" - a Jedi world (Brazos simulator) which is an Academy, spacestation, centre of Jedi learning (with a Great Library Archive which is public) and only the very occasional (well-controlled and well-defined) conflict. It is also currently the oldest Star Wars location in SL.

I can attest to the peaceful atmosphere and focus away from combat as I own the sim and run it.

2. "Taris" - a multi-level Star Wars city planet where combat is *banned* and the focus is on non-combat RP and solving of puzzle type "quests"

That said, most places will have out of character (OOC) areas or shopping areas you can visit in complete safety, or will allow you to explore unmolested as long as you are clearly OOC.

Have fun.
