I am just wanting to know if anyone had any steps or an instruction thing, on what you do after you rent a shop. I did one time, and i could rez the items (i was planning participating in this one stores reseller program) and i didnt know how to place the sign on the store, or how to put the items on walls and such.. I know dumb question, but any help would be great.

Thanks for your time and hope that i put this in the right one

Hi heidi. Welcome to SL!

What sort of shop?

You need some SL basic training and with that you will be on your way to doing whatever you wish.

Heidi. This is a potentially huge mistake.

Please do not make any investments without talking to other experienced residents.

If you want to just dive in and have fun and have the funds to do that - then by all means go for it.

But if you want to avoid any pitfalls, maybe you should take some time to research this more.

You can contact me in world regarding whatever it is you like and I will do what i can to help.

And definitely give me a ring about this reseller program...So many are scams.

I am hear to help if you need it.

I don't think there is much money to be made by reselling other's stock in SL, and agree with Briana there. So many pitfalls, especially with so much stolen content and cheap and nasty full-perms stuff doing the rounds. You need to protect your reputation, and steer clear of dodgy deals.

Plus shop rental costs can be the biggest drain on your budget, so you want to make sure they are earning their keep.

Now that's said, I'd much rather encourage you than otherwise, as having a shop can be so rewarding and fun if you like to create. It sounds like you need some basic building/SL skills, though. If you want, give me a yell as I'm happy to answer stupid questions, and can show you how to present things for sale.

I have to agree with the general sentiment, reselling usualy does not generate enough income to rent a shop, it can be a welcome suplement on selling your own crerations offcourse.

if you are a graphics artist the simplest way to start your own shop is selling textures, there is always a demand for good textures, also consider using xstreet, it's a lot cheaper then an inworld shop and more secure.
The downside of selling textures is that for them to be usefull for builders they have to be copy and trans meaning that anyone can sell them on as often as they want so after a month or so you'll need new textures to get more income.

Heidi, if you can't line a vendor up to a wall and place it, then I suggest you go to NCI or somewhere and take a few building classes. Just do a search under 'education'.
