More fun with the new RC

Since downloading RC 1.22.11, I have not been able to get edit options for some objects. I can get edit from the pie menu but when I pull up the edit window none of the options are available. Does anyone else have this problem?

Are they objects not owned by you? You probably have "select only my objects" enabled. Uncheck it by going under tools > uncheck "select only my objects"

thanks, Joshooah, but that's not the problem. It is on objects that I don't own, but it's only on some objects. For example, one of my neighbors has storm clouds over their house. I wanted to see the information (i.e. who made it etc.) and when I pulled up the edit menu, nuthin! Yet if I edit something else I get all the info.

I'm wondering if this means another support ticket! oh no!!!

it just depends on the permissions of the object..plus the distance from you that it is..
rezz a prim from the tools and see if you get information from it..if so you should be ok.

Are you trying to edit particle clouds? if so you may not be trying to edit the emitter.
This is the only thing I can think of that would cause such a problem, as you cannot edit particles like prims. Try selecting areas in the dead center of where particles are being generated, that should help you find the actual prim emitter.

And a good guess too, Somatika, but still not the problem. I did find the actual prim in this particular example and no luck. I even tried to edit my other neighbor's house, nothing. but i can edit their trees (or at least get the edit menu. I wouldnt actually do any editing even if i could!). It's a problem that happens on some objects but not others. and it's only happening to me. My b/f is able to edit exactly the objects i can't.

soooooo....there you have it. Once more goofy things happen to me. I'm getting a complex! LOL

could it possibly be because some objects are too far away? maybe try unchecking "limit select distance" in the advanced menu (ctrl alt d if you don't have it showing)

Could it be the "select only moveable objects" option in the Tools menu?

my b/f was able to click on the cloud emitter (the actual prim) while standing next to me so the distance is not the issue, and the "select only movable objects" is not checked.

I'm going to bite the bullet and open a ticket. they love me over there! lol

damn it i love helping to solve a good mystery! unfortunately the LL gods work in mysterious ways. good luck i'm all out of ideas lol

and i really wish you could have solved this!! sometimes i think LL has it in for me. Every time i download a new version of whatever they feel the need to upgrade I get quirky things happening. ah..who knows.
