Hi all, don't know if this is the right forum or not, but it seems to be the most helpful one in the bunch for general stuff, so here goes.....

Does anyone know of a bot software that let's a bot play with scripted poseballs? Namely the ones that ask you if it's ok to animate your avatar. I need a danceball bot LOL

i think most dance balls come with that already in them..unless you mean you want the script to make your own.

right click on the desktop icon for secondlife and choose properties

At the top of those properties you should see the target line

add -multiple to the target line of your SL shortcut icon. You can then use the client as many times as your computer will handle.

this is what mine reads:

"I:\Documents\sl run\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate.exe" --channel "Second Life Release Candidate" --settings settings_releasecandidate.xml --set InstallLanguage en -multiple

notice the end there is -mutliple this must have a space before the dash and the letter preceeding it.

You will need an additional account to log with too and then you can dance all night and....someone once told me that a person can have sex! ...with your alt! I havent actually tried it cuz I'm still a bit afraid of her getting clingy and spending all my lindens on hair and shoes.

Thanks for the tip! But I was actually hoping to avoid running another instance of SL viewer. I was playing around with Avipet 2.5, and it ran well except that it doesn't do scripted poseballs. I'd prefer a bot software just to save the resources.....

Are there any other bot software packages out there? Free would be nice, but I'm certainly willing to pay a reasonable amount if neccessary

The short answer is yes, there are free packages but its in poor form to ask for them. Bot software allows the bot to sit anywhere and therefore sitting on a pose ball that has a dance animation can be done.

You can probably achieve what you are asking for without a bot. Just login an alt account using metabolt. It depends on what you want, but if it's just a dance partner to test the balls out for sizing, this'll work fine. There are a number of light-weight, non-graphical clients available for running SL.

How is it in poor form to ask where to get a freebie? Would it also be in poor form to ignore the part where the OP asked about getting around the "is it ok to animate you avatar? Yes/no" menu?

That's ridiculous. If someone knows where to pick up free bot software, share it.

Personally, I use MetaBOLT. It's not bot software, just a client that lets me run multiple avatars without the overhead of processing graphics (not always necessary). If I just need an avatar to sit on a poseball, for example, that would be a viable tool.

It isn't. JulieAnne was wrong about it.
