Logins have been temporarily disabled to address the following:
We have identified a technical problem with our database. We are investigating and will keep you updated. This affects all in-world services. Please do not conduct transactions until we give an all clear.
I had to check the date and time to make sure it is for today explains why logins were down and stuff not working.

I wonder if I sent a message to LL back when they took money from me monthly for my sims that went along the lines of
"Payments have been temporarily disabled to address the following:
We have identified a technical problem with our bank account. We are investigating and will keep you updated. This affects all real world payment services. Please do not conduct transactions until we give an all clear."
Ah, hindsight I tell you.

I suppose when they give us the error messages, we have the option of just shutting them down (as in not using them) just as they would shut us down if we did not pay
