Hey, there is a permission request throttling version of SL out now, a version designed to prevent some of the griefing that's been done lately using massive numbers of permission requests.

I'm seeing one for the release candidate. Is there one for the main current normal client version also?

Only in the RC version. Not even in the Windlight First-Look version. It will be part of the main client when the RC version replaces the main client.

Sigh, I am trying to resist wanting an attack of teenage ninja mutant turtle particle emitting floating replicating physics enabled screaming cubes.

I forget now, was that stuff done by the animation request spammers?

Anyone had a run in with those animation request flooders with the new throttled client?

Does it work? Does it cause any problems?

I believe the new one has the stuff from the release.

I'm starting to find it hard to keep track if I switch from one to the other.

The new one released today has the new search system. I can't remember at the moment if that had been out in the former mainstream version or if that had only been in the releaase candidate.

Your STARTING to find it hard to keep track? I don't understand half the time what everyone is talking about - so many different versions... Tonight, after much hesitation considering so many complaints each new version gets, I finally decided to go for it. I was using 1.18.3.5 before. Well, everything is great! I also would love to know if anyone has received any animation requests yet. Maybe the spammers are waiting for the week-end.

I guess PN and other colleagues in grief may be back at the drawing board working on some new way to spoil other people's fun.

Does that reject the permission dialogs? I never even thought of trying that.

well that sucks

it used to, but someone just told me it doesn't... been so long since I had to use it didn't know it'd changed... tested it on myself and sure enough, it's broke =(

mute by name seems to be broken too
view -> mute list, 'mute object by name...'

but right click, mute works (not very useful though)

not sure if muting the owner works, since I didn't have any guinea pigs around to test with...

(oddly letting it run for ~5mins on a .05 timer didn't crash the nicholaz client, but testing different mute methods on a 2 sec timer and constantly closing the pop up DID...)

If somebody wants to test the permissions thing, I'm sure I could come up with a script that keeps poking at you. Just don't AR me!!
