I haven't used SL for a while and I have returned to find that I can't search. "Adult content" is disabled, and I can't mark it. If I search for adult words, my search is rejected with the message that "Some terms in your search query were excluded due to content restrictions as clarified in the Community Standards."

How do I fix this?

What version of SL are you using? (the verson number, not the words "the latest", "the current one", etc.)

You have to either do the Age Verification thing or give them info so that you can be at least Payment Information on File... credit card or Paypal. They just added the "Adult" thing and the ramifications aren't clear yet (see like 8 or 9 other threads here for more info... keyword: Zindra).

If you already have payment info on file, you still have to authorize yourself to check the Adult box. Preferences > General > Rating.

Thanks, Victoria. This is the setting that I couldn't find. I can't believe it was so deeply buried, with no cue in the search UI that it was needed.

this might be a good place to ask this, although i'm not sure..........

in some of the blog things, it says that having had a monetary transaction with lindenlabs, and/or having cc info on file is good for adult verification. well...i was locked out of a parcel last night(friday june 19, 2009) and it said i needed to get adult verification. i have cc infor on file, and have bought linden $ twice. the link took me to a page that i was leary to fill out my info on, as i don't want/need mmore junk mail coming to me.

so....what's the deal?

Age verification is a different system. Why they insist on having two systems I do not know.
